My brother and I planned to meet here for lunch. He lives in Madison and I live up in the UP of Michigan. When I got to the restaurant, it was closed for construction! It is marked open on Google maps, but is completely closed. See pictures. The owners should mark this place as temporarily closed!

First time in since the renovation. Beautiful place, fabulous service (thanks, Shirley! ) and outstanding fish! Of course, we sat at the bar and saw some pretty delicious things go past. Going to have to go back and keep working my way through the menu.

The bartender was very quick to say hello. They got our order correct, but they don’t put mayo on any sandwich, and when questioned about it, same bartender became adjutated using a snide tone of voice saying “you should’ve asked for some”. The french fries were not good, tasted as they were fried in heavily used cooking oil. I will not return there, not recommend.

Ate here after hiking at High Cliff State Park. The food was PHENOMENAL! I would definitely return to have another burger. Unfortunately the bartender had a very negative attitude. She allowed side substitutions for one of our party and denied the same thing for two others. The bartender was both very hostile and defensive any time we tried to ask for anything. I was the only one in our party to order alcohol and I would’ve asked to have the drink re-made if I could’ve talked to anyone else. One of the bar regulars came to us and apologized on behalf of the establishment and assured us it was not normally like this.

We would have stayed for food but the bartender was so rude we left. First of all, the place was busy and only two bartenders / servers were working. The thought was that because of that, the bartender had a bad attitude but we recalled that the last time we were there, that same bartender served us with the same attitude. When you’re in a customer service business, your attitude and the way you treat others will keep customers coming back. I think we are done visiting the bar and giving them our business. It looks as if management may be clueless or they do not care.

The bartender was very friendly and attentive. We ordered drinks got our menu, ordered our food. We both got the seafood platter. The perch was very fishy. The walleye and haddock were excellent. I didn’t try the shrimp. The french fries were really good as was the bread. The food came out really fast and steaming hot. You get a large portion, worth the price
