The reviews seemed pretty good and I was in the area so decided to try it. The staff was friendly and it was pretty busy there. Inside is a bit small and there are many tables there. Almost seemed like too many tables for a smaller place, it was hard to move around and to get to the bathroom. Most of the food was fine as was the coffee. The pancakes though surprise me. I could only eat around the edge. I don’t know if it wasn’t finished cooking or if it was too much flour. It was rubbery and didn’t have much taste. The syrup didn’t help. That was disappointing as I was looking forward to the pancakes the most.

I live in Wilmington so I’m happy to support local establishments. I’ve been here before with no issues, but this past weekend was the last time I’ll eat here. Our server could not have been less interested in waiting on us. She walked away while we were still giving her the order, and she was so unfriendly that we were afraid to ask for a few extra napkins. My wife ordered water to drink, which came in a Poland Springs bottle that we were charged for, and I ordered a “McMuffin” sandwich which came on the thinnest and soggiest English muffin possible. The bill for two adults and two kids came to over $50 which is outrageous for the food and service we received. Too bad, because there aren’t a lot of restaurants in Wilmington to begin with.

Would have given a better rating…. My wife didn’t want coffee or tea due to the caffeine (senior citizen). She ordered a cup of hot water and was charged $3.00. The waitress said she doesn’t set the prices.

The server was more focused on talking politics with one table than anything else. I don’t mind people discussing politics but calling people offensive names for not backing one side or the other. There were only 3 tables being served and it didn’t get any busier during my visit. Home fries were cold, omelette was burned and had the wrong cheese. She asked 3 times what kind of toast I’d like and I asked for wheat..I got white instead. Maybe if she focused on taking the orders instead of barking about politics she’d be able to keep a one person order straight. Avoid at any and all costs, I will never return. Very unwelcoming environment.

First time here at the Country Chef Restaurant, unfortunately our experience was tarnished by incredibly slow service. It took nearly 30 minutes for our order to be taken. By the time our orders were taken the restaurant was out of the first three items I attempted to order from the menu. It was a tough first impression.

This place looked nice. But the waitress was rude. The food was okay. My eggs were horrible everything else was ok and that’s an understatement. I couldn’t order what I wanted to order because it was weekend only so that was a big disappointment. They gave me the wrong bread with my meal. It was very over priced. I will not be coming back.
