The first time going to the Cornbread restaurant was a pleasant experience! The catfish finger breading was amazing and hot, and it fell apart (so good). I tried the chicken and waffles, and the chicken was good. I loved the waffle mix. What I love about this particular restaurant is that all black people were in unison, and it was a great atmosphere to see. WILL BE BACK!!

So I carried out my food so didn’t experience the atmosphere at all but the food is definitely a one out of five. The chicken wings are over cooked. The mac & cheese was cold and no seasoning really no cheese the sweet potatoes were sweet but it kind of had a weird taste to them the only thing that was decent out of all the food ordered was the string beings that were hot and had some flavor to them. Because you had to order online and seems like everything was priced a little bit above the menu price you couldn’t call ahead. Truly disappointed in the meal I spent 32.00 on

It was my 1st visit here and the atmosphere was really nice. The service started off a bit slow. We had to ask several ppl for eating utensils and corn bread, which I WASN’T IMPRESSED with. It was just basic cornbread. I make better corn bread at home!! The chicken was horrible and I ❤ chicken but this was disgusting. I will say that I enjoyed the potato salad, greens, yams, Mac and cheese, fish and ribs…

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted, seated and embraced with EXCEPTIONAL service. Chrissy LOVE served us, answered all questions and went above and beyond the call of duty. She even made us a RASPBERRY DELIGHT! This drink definitely needs to be on the menu. My cousin wanted a sweet tea but was blown out the water with what she crafted . The next time Chrissy LOVE serves you, she is fabulous and also let her serve you up a RASPBERRY “CHRISSY” DELIGHT! Here, with the service, food, vibe, You won’t be disappointed….

Went for the 1st time today and man…this place exceeded my expectations. Place is pretty small, but we came at a perfect time and got seats. Cornbread was made fresh and homemade. Our waitress Q was great, attentive, and fast! I ordered a cup of gumbo, and it was made right. Top 5 gumbo I had. Had all the right flavors. I ordered the smothered gravy oxtails, and they were fantastic. That with the rice were cooked perfectly and were flavortown to me. I also ordered fried Okra, mac & cheese, and sweet potatoes. They all were cooked perfect and made really well. The Mac and cheese was seasoned really good and wasn’t too cheesy or dry. My wife got Fried Catfish, hush puppies, greens, and Mac & cheese. The hush puppies were the best ones I’ve had to date. Greens were good and not too liquidy. I ordered a carrot cake to go and my goodness it was bomb. This place is underrated and the food was amazing. Only 2 complaints I have is the place is small and tight and the price on dessert is a bit high. Everything was well worth it. I will Def be coming back. Best soul food spot in metro Detroit

Disappointed with my order. Catfish and sweet potatoes were good however the Mac and cheese was on the cold side and had dry noodles tasted like craft no flavor. Greens were a miss , not tender and had a burnt taste, the meat on the ribs were dry.

You might have a wait on the weekends, but it will be worth it! Friendly service and great food in a cool spot. If you’re going for brunch, you should make reservations. Be sure to order the sweet potato muffins.

This was my very 1st time eating here and we drove from downriver to Southfield to try out the soul food. Let’s just say it was worth the drive, time and energy! The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The employees were friendly & very helpful. The food was served hot and fresh. I did not have one complaint and if u know me then u know that I’m hard to impress with food because I am a foodie lol but I give this fantastic restaurant 5 stars! I will be eating here again very soon! If you’re in the Southfield area please go check them out!
