Went on Thurday. Best bbq I have had in years! Best in San Diego by far. I lived in Texas for 10 years and this BBQ was better then anything I ever had there. I had the pulled pork and my daughter had the brisket. Both were flavorfull and moist. The sweet potato pie and the peach cobbler both amazing. It feels like you went to a neighbors house that is having a bbq especially for you. The staff was welcoming and friendly and service was fast.

Best. Damn. Bbq. In San Diego. Period. It’s smoked, not grilled. No seating, take out only. Peach cobbler, real greens, great beans, fantastic meats. Their brisket and ribs are top notch. I’m not a fan of the sausage, mainly because the sausage doesn’t like me. It’s my goto bbq place when we visit San Diego. If you don’t go, you have missed the best eating in San Diego.

Brought some friends to Coop’s today, the 4th of July, and we LOVED the pulled pork, jerk chicken, greens and ribs — we wanted a little of everything! Mr. Coop greeted us himself and checked on us while we were enjoying our meal, and he made us feel at home. We will definitely be back to try the potatoes; they sold out by 11AM!

Some of the best bbq i have had to date from a restaurant. When they say West Texas style BBQ they 100% mean it, collard greens are solid, mac n cheese worth it . The star of the show, the beef ribs are amazing tender, flavorful, with a perfect smoke ring. A hard feat to some places. Truly takes skill to nail it.

A little background. I’m from Texas. I grew up in North Texas and went to school in West Texas. I’ve been lucky to taste amazing BBQ so when I found Coops and it said authentic West TX BBQ I had to try it.

This little shop is interesting. Pretty much nothing but BBQ and sides. No seating so take out only. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food is beyond 5 stars! Prices are reasonable for quality BBQ and portions are good too. Right across the driveway is their fried chicken and waffles shop and fish and chips too. This place is no joke, they do what they do and do it perfectly.
