I really like the food here. I’ve been here twice. I had oxtails w rice/peas and cabbage. I also ordered jerk chicken a La carte just to try it. There wasn’t any jerk sauce on the chicken but it was seasoned and cooked so well it wasn’t needed. My friend loves the beef patties and oxtails as well. It’s a 40 minute drive for me. But was well worth it. I just don’t understand why they have so much restaurant seating and a full bar. But it’s not utilized. We were the only ones dining in both times. The place could be packed if they added some entertainment or at least drink options.

My family and I drove 54 minutes for some Jamaican food. We dined in and it was five of us. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. Our waitress Stephiann was Amazing. Y’all this food is delicious. My husband and I ordered the curry chicken, my daughter ordered the Rasta Pasta, OMG! I would take that drive any day. I give it a 10/10. Definitely on my top 10.

The food and atmosphere offers a piece of Jamaica here in Houston the Beef Pies and Oxtails were heavenly but the Pineapple Ginger juice did it for me!!

Absolutely enjoyed every bit of this food. I mean the depth of flavor and freshness was something to write about. Jerk chicken was grilled which you could taste the grill and the jerk flavor(the jerk wasn’t to spicy, but just right), the curried goat was so tender and rich (that gravy or stew that they make it in was seriously finger licking good). The Oxtails were also tender and packed with flavor. Honestly, the only thing left was the bones . They also give you a really good portion size! Thank you Cool Runnings for the Amazing Jamaican experience. When I travel to Houston again, I’ll be stopping by!

First time eating at Cool Runnings and when I tell you the Food was amazing, service was fast and prices are very reasonable. I brought the large oxtail plate with peas and rice with cabbage and y’all it was more than enough food I ate on it that day and night. When I visit Houston again I will be returning!!! 100% recommended!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was my first time eating and dining in and I have no regrets. Tried Jamaican ox tails before at a different restaurant but was VERY disappointed. Yesterday was my first time trying Jamaican food again since then and only caus a friend of mine recommended. The food was great and the dining area and bathroom was clean. Service could have been a bit better. While waiting for the rest of my party to arrive no server attended our table until we, the guests got their attention. Our server was great tho after we requested service. Besides that my experience was very great. I’ll definitely be back again…

Ok…I definitely know Jamaican Grandma not in that back kitchen the food has a completely non authentic taste. The jerk came with no jerk sauce just seasoned it was ok..the goat was just ok,,,if you are looking for that Jamaican down home cooked meal this ain’t it..nice staff nice environment but carry out was jumping so money is been spent but not invested in establishing better quality of food..the menu is basic nothing extraordinary for me to return. The Coco bread was horrible worse I have ever had.

We got the jerk chicken and it was PHENOMENAL. The meal had lots of food, and all of it was delicious. Definitely going to be back.
