Convivium Osteria is definitely great. You are transported to an italian antique house upon entering the restaurant. The service was a little confusing at times, but very professional and courteous. The highilights of my meal were definitely the sweet ravioli with peking duck ragu and the rabbit with polenta. Both dishes are so unique and well done. Two of my favorite italian dishes in NYC so far. Would definitely recommend.

We were a party of 7 and were accommodated downstairs in a cellar like room. Super cool! Intimate setting. All of the food was really good. Loved the palenta and shrimp dish. They only carry wine, no full bar. We found ourselves waiting around for the bill. But overall a great experience.

Had an amazing time at this wonderful establishment this past Friday and I was impressed. The service was amazing, the restaurant itself is classy and has that Italian dining feel to it with its dim lightning, rustic esthetic, and the wine cellar section is perfection. The food was delicious! I’ll definitely be back real soon. If you’re thinking about going here for any occasion, do it!!! Be sure to make reservations as this place is usually very busy.

Always a great experience when you come here for dinner. Seating downstairs in the wine cellar is always nice when with a bigger group. There is a reason this place has been here so long — great service and food!

This was a great meal. We we’re lucky to be seated in the lower level especially since the heat wave was in full force. The menu is very unique. It is not often that you find rabbit on the menu. And it’s less frequent even when you do find it that the meat is tender and delicious. There were so many fun things to try for example, for appetizers we had the octopus, the artichoke, burrata, and the salad. I probably could’ve stop there. But we went onto a main entrée with a number of different options all very delicious. The steak was made exactly to her liking medium rare on the rear side. And it was carved tableside perfectly. We also had the Seabass. I was very happy that we were able to order a deboned. I never enjoy taking bones out of my mouth while I’m eating.

Great food, great service in an amazing wine cellar. Had the Caesar salad and the fettuccine. It is a pricey so look up the menu ahead of time.

Underwhelming. Had the ravioli, lasagna, rabbit, octopus, shrimp, and sea bass (fish of the day). The ravioli was especially confusing – being very sweet yet ladled with Bolognese made it unclear whether it was a main course or a dessert. The sea bass was well cooked, however, lacked sufficient seasoning. The rabbit was somewhat dry and tough. Lasagna was nothing to write home about. Overall, had higher expectations, though the atmosphere was very cozy and romantic.

Perfect date night spot, or to bring out of town family. Precise, well executed northern Italian worthy of it’s Michelin star at an incredible value for money. It’s so good it should have a line down the street, but doesn’t yet. Wine list is intelligently designed and regional, service is spot on but unpretentious. I speak as a CMS somm who has worked decades in high end: this is where industry people go on a Monday night date when they want everything to be exactly right without any fuss. At the same time, it’s not threateningly original; you can take your small town family members here when they’re visiting and they won’t be weirded out, but you won’t be bored and annoyed. Sophisticated enough for NYC without being too Brooklyn weird for middle America. Brilliant. Get in while you still can; I anticipate in the near future they’ll be booked out for months in advance.

The only negative reviews here complain about service. Idiots. This is the one restaurant in New York that doesn’t take plates from your table the moment you’re finished. It’s the one restaurant that doesn’t give you a receipt the moment you’re finished your food. No rush. Sit and enjoy the ambiance. What a lovely place. The food was also very good.

Three trips to the Friuli region recently cancelled!! Luckily a trip to Brooklyn to visit our daughter brought us a step closer to Italy. Real authentic Italian dishes offered and all of ours were delicious. No picture of the polenta with oyster mushrooms & taleggio cheese but it was incredible. Looks like we will be visiting Our daughter more often.
