Was in Wilmington to help move my cousin out of school and looked up food options near me and saw Connie’s. Rarely have good chicken and waffles so was hooked and decided to check it out. As we showed up the staff was very friendly and gave us a whole rundown of the menu, as well as the food was delicious. Would recommend this place to anyone in the local area looking for some good chicken and waffles, or even just chicken or just waffles.

I’ll give it 2.5 stars. I ordered online 11/29/22 for pickup in 1 hour. My food was done about 10-15mins early. It was ok with me because I was just parking when I got the notification but if I needed the full hour than my food would have been sitting all that additional time. I ordered the chicken and waffles along with the half and half peach tea. The chicken was way too salty and their gease could use a changing. Also, the tea was super sweet as well. I was really hungry so I ate at least half the waffle was the best thing.

I found the food to be mediocre at best. They charge like they are a high quality exotic store $10 for chicken and waffles but in actuality it wasn’t worth it. The waffle was bland no thought or care was put into the batter. The butter was cold so it didn’t spread on to the waffle the syrup was also cold. The chicken had a little bit of seasoning so that was okay but it wasn’t great and it was just it was just so so I wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. It cost us $25 for three waffles and five chicken wingettes totally not worth the money I will never ever ever ever ever go there again nor would I recommend it. Don’t go there unless you’ve never had a good chicken and waffles.

I love Connie’s! However I noticed that it doesn’t always come out the same, not sure if that’s based on different cooks or what…for the most part the chicken is flavorful and juicy. I feel like they usually do a good job at cutting the tenders and I don’t get a lot of rib meat or cartilage often but often enough that I stopped going here as much as I would like to. The waffles are always good!

Terrible service!! I simply asked the older lady cooking the food, how long the food would take since I was on my lunch break and wanted to make sure that I would be out of the restaurant in enough time to get back. She gave me a time frame which was reasonable however shortly after, I overheard her telling coworkers that she shouldn’t cook my food all the way. This is so unprofessional and malicious. I will never return to this establishment again!!

The food is delicious! It’s definitely the most I’ve ever paid for chicken and waffles, but I would do it again. I ordered online. When I went to pick up my food, there was no parking available. I circled the block a few times to no avail. I called and explained it was my 1st time ordering and my toddler had fallen asleep in the car. The person on the phone said I should put my hazards on and double park on the street. I asked if they had anyone to bring it to the door, and they said no. I left and asked mom to pick it up for me. They were cordial on the phone, and their food is great. I feel like it would help if they could accommodate meeting someone at the door since they are aware of the parking situation, especially for the price of the food. Overall, I’d still recommend it!

For starters, I like to say I used to really enjoy Connie’s food. And because it was black owned I wanted to support black businesses being as though I’m black also. But now I’m highly disappointed in their product. Before the waffles were thicker and fuller and I normally get red velvet so the waffle would always be the proper color. But now! The waffles are extremely soft and the red velvet isn’t red it’s a faded pink and it tastes bad as if it’s water down or something smh… The quality has dropped drastically and yet the prices have increased!!! I’m not with that, you guys have lost an customer that’s for sure!
