Brendon Clar is the chef/owner of Compane Trattoria. He purchased Compane in 2015 and has been striving to make the restaurant his own version of Italian American dining, while still staying true to its notable roots. Cooking has always been at the forefront of his life. As a child his Easy Bake oven and play kitchen were his most prized possessions! He has worked in a variety of culinary destinations, most notably in Denver, Colorado where he worked under fame chef Frank Bonanno. His travels have brought him back home to cook for his family, friends, and neighbors. He is one to let the good times roll, loves to cook, and sincerely hopes that you enjoy your time at Compane Trattoria.

So few tables made it super nice for a private dinner. Very tall ceilings could have made it a loud restaurant but they have placed the tables far apart and giving you quite a bit of room between them and it was wonderful. Bar wasn’t as comfy as we’d hoped but our table was ready right away so we grabbed a drink and were seated . 8:15 pm Our server was great and the food delicious. I had a piece of halibut ,sauces excellent and the other person had bolognese. Both delicious and good size portions. Not cheap but we will return because it was so enjoyable .go there!

This was my first visit and I would characterize the cuisine as light Italian. The sauces aren’t heavy and there isn’t deep fried anything. There were three vegetarian options, arancini, angnoletti, and ravioli. And of course the pizza options. The cocktails we ordered were superb, a French 75 and the Baron with a delicious rye whiskey. The menu is not extensive, so be sure to take a look that there is something for everyone if you are going with a large group.

I left Rochester 3 years ago. So good to return and see that this restaurant is flourishing. Menu choices are excellent. Steak, fish, pasta all excellent. Note the owner and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make accommodations for special needs.

Very nice atmosphere, we sat at the bar because it would have been an hour wait for the dining room. It took about 20 minutes to finally get a drink and then another 45 minutes just to order food. The one lady back there was running circles around the two guys that were working there. Besides the long wait times the food was very good and drinks were made well.

We visited Compane Friday night with two other couples and had an excellent dinner. All six of us were very happy with the food, atmosphere and service. I had the Seafood Fregola and it was fantastic. We highly recommend Compane and will be back.

From drinks to dessert everything was very tasty, but the shining star was the oatmeal cookie cheesecake, do not sleep on getting a piece of that!! The new location is beautiful and am looking forward to the next meal. A gem of a restaurant in Fairport, check it out.
