I always drove by this place but today I decided to give them a try. I really liked the pulled pork, it really has a good smokey flavor, not dry, better than other bbq places around…I highly recommend it. I also had the hot buffalo wings, I really liked the wings, they were grilled and had excellent smokey bbw flavor again. The only thing I wasn’t impressed with was the fries, a bit soggy, but you don’t come here for the fries I think. All in all I’d come back their bbq meats are top notch!

Commonwealth is probably the best bbq I’ve had in Massachusetts but that’s not saying much. The food was bland and greasy and the only place with worse brisket was another place in Massachusetts. The brisket was tough and lacked flavor. There was no smoke ring or bark, which shows an inexperiencedpit master. .We figured we would stop by since there appears to be lots of traffic and we expected a lot.I had the Mason Dixon and my wife had a 2 meat platter with brisket and chicken. The chicken was greasy and also lacked flavor also. I question if they have an experienced pit master making the food.I’ve had bbq in KC, Memphis, The Carolinas, Texas and Florida. This isn’t great and isnt close to the level of bbq in those areas. It is the best in Massachusetts though so i they cater to those in the area who have taste for lobster and Italian food.

Best barbecue I’ve had in Massachusetts, or at least southern Mass. I have a few more spots on my list to try, but I think Commonwealth will be tough to beat. Brisket is cooked fork tender and packed with flavor. Pulled pork is super smoky and perfect for sopping up lots of their excellent house barbeque sauce. Sides are great – coleslaw and kale especially. I’m eyeing that burnt ends appetizer… only thing I’ve had that I’d pass on in the future is the sausage. It’s tasty, but I’d rather have another helping of brisket!

It’s a fun place, food is good. I’m no expert, but everything was delish. Fast service and lots of tables outside.

So yummy! We were visiting family and made an impulse stop, which was a good decision. We got the brisket and chicken and loved it. I wish I got more than one of the jalapeno poppers because that was my favorite part. Sauce was great but didn’t need it because everything was already so tasty.

Smokey chicken sandwich for the win!! This is always a great treat when my boyfriend and I aren’t feeling like eating something from home. I love the app, I can make sure that my weird orders are perfect every time! The honey BBQ sauce is delicious. Great fries, cornbread, potato salad!! Super local comfort food ❤️

I have patronized this business for a number of years. I placed my order and about 4 people placed an order after me. My number was called and my African American son went to get the order, they asked if he needed a bag and then asked for a receipt. I’m glad they started asking for receipts because they didn’t in the past and I have had someone take my order by accident. As I sat in my car I noticed 3 Caucasian customers were called after my son and were not asked for a receipt. I went to the window to ask the employee why did he ask my son for a receipt and not the three customers after him. His response was I’m not sure what you are trying to say. I replied I’m not trying to say anything, I’m asking a question. He turned to the kitchen staff and said to them, I’m not sure what she’s trying to say and they laughed and shrugged it off. I’ve never felt unwelcome at this establishment but today made me rethink if I am valued as a customer.
