Food was delicious once it got to me. The hostesses seemed really new and only one was friendly enough to bring a smile out. I had to holler at the waitress to come back after she took my partner’s order. They didn’t really know what I was ordering so it took awhile to get it right. I’m giving 4 stars based on the taste and appearance of the food alone.

We arrived at 12pm on a Saturday. the restaurant was empty, except for 2 people who had finished and were leaving. The manager greeted us and was exceptionally nice. We placed our order at 12:10 which consisted of shrimp tacos and chimichangas. We noticed a few tables had come in, ordered, eaten their food, and left during our wait. Part of our order came out at 1:10pm, the shrimp tacos came out (cold) several minutes later. We finished eating in about 15 minutes and waited for our checks which were never brought to us. When asked (politely) why it took so long, the manager stated that the “rice wasn’t ready” and he had to wait for the “majority of people,” implying that he didn’t want to make rice for just us. He then stated that he had “said his apologies” without actually ever apologizing for anything. We paid $39 for very little food that took an hour to arrive. the food was OK, but not nearly good enough for an experience in an empty restaurant that lasted nearly two hours (12pm to 1:49pm) in total. We will not be back.

Hands down the WORST experience we have ever had. We waited forever! The food was mediocre AT BEST. They do NOT like whites here! At all! Was charged $1.79 for a 12oz canned soda and the top of the can was dirty! I have never had worse service in my life. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AND I AM GOING TO POST THIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!. The food was honestly not good. It literally looked like something my 11 year old sister could make at home. I ordered a chicken with rice, beans and a salad and when I say this I’m serious…. IT LOOKED LIKE THEY BOUGHT THAT SALAD FROM WALMART, TOOK IT OUT THE BAG AND SLAPPED IT ON THE PLATE AND ADDED RANCH DRESSING TO IT. The food is not restaurant quality. I’ve payed way better for much less. Now I will admit it. It is authentic as the food you would find in a regular persons home. Something I could literally make at home right now. It taste like a mediocre home cooked meal not a restaurant cooked meal. So if you’re expecting high quality not here. If you’re okay with paying a lot for a mediocre home cooked meal with Walmart salad then this is your place.

I think it needs new management, service has gotten really really slow. …..food is tasty but it takes for ever to get to the table, music a little bit to loud it’s more like a bar type of thing, about a year ago to me was like a 4 stars restaurant, not no more! At this moment it’s more like a 2 stars restaurant.

My husband and I ate here, when we walked in the resturant was completely empty. My husband ordered a plate which was $17.99 and when it was brought out it was disappointing. That plate wasnt even worth paying $10 for much less $17.99. We had to ask for a refill which by the way they charge 1.99 for. The check was never brought to our table we had to get up and ask to pay.

I used to work for a Mexican restaurant in Pineville and had to learn how to make everything from scratch. I can always tell tue difference when I eat at restaurants that don’t use fresh ingredients. Everything at Comalapa is done correctly! I always enjoy the fresh food and the perfect horchata. The service here is quick and awesome, making it an easy choice to become a repeat customer. The owner is extremely cordial and generous with food (a big plus since I’m pregnant). I’ll continue coming back.

Even though they are slow, how else would you cook the food takes time, this place is a hidden jem! The food portions are excellent and the food! Delicious to say the least. Everytime I’m in Charlotte I visit with Don Francisco and his staff. The staff are very pleasant and helpful eventhough their primary language is spanish they are an excellent example of the culture they came from. Negative vibes are not in this atmosphere. If you have the time I highly recommend that you stop by and try them out.

Horrible food we paid close to $40 for a torta and flautas mind you we asked for no beans and the torta was drowned in beans. I know flautas are fried but with each bite grease would just pour out the other end was horrible then we advised the waitress that we asked for no beans and sh just snickered about it! No way will I go there again!!
