It has been a few years since we last visited, but the Colonial House NEVER disappoints!! The food was fantastic, and our server, who told she has worked there for 51 years, was as nice as it gets. Great New England ambiance, and great night. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

This is such a cozy little hole in the wall! We chose this because it looks like a welcoming home. The interior is so inviting and the wait staff are too polite for words! ☺ our server asked if I enjoyed the lobster bisque and I said, oh it was okay… and she gave me the MOM look and asked again and I said no, I’m sorry, I didn’t like it. She said no problem, I’ll remove it from your bill. I ordered the prime rib au jus and my son ordered chicken wings and fries. Husband ordered fried seafood platter. We loved it all and were very pleased. The icing on the cake was when we were done and the waitress asked if we’d like a ‘Hoodsie’. We had no idea what that is. She said I’ll bring it. Someone will eat it. What a pleasant surprise! It was individual ice cream cup with a wooden spoon. Spencer (my son) was so happy with it. It was chocolate and vanilla. 10/10 come here, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you, Colonial House. You are our friends forever. ♥

Friendly, casual family-style restaurant. We enjoyed the fish and chips and the desserts were very ample portions and tasty. Our waitress was friendly and the food arrived hot. We arrived at peak time and the service was slow.

Love this place! The food is always fantastic. The staff is warm and pleasant. Laid back country atmosphere. Sometime there is a wait but well worth it.

Enjoyed our plentiful dinners of marinated ny sirloin steak tips and haddock cecilia (spinach and cheese). Service was top notch.

The food was really good. We got onion rings and spinach artichoke appetizers and the salmon with mashed potatoes and butternut squash. I have no pictures because we were hungry and we dived right in. Everything was good. They had a hockey game playing at the bar area. We were sitting right by the fireplace. Really cozy place.

I can’t praise the colonial house highly enough. While it isn’t exactly easy to find, being located in a residential neighborhood, the food is great, especially the seafood, and they have some of the best service I’ve ever had. When my wife discovered that lobster bisque isn’t too her taste (not downgrading then for that, they’re was nothing wrong with it), they removed it from the bill without being asked, and we even learned what a Hoodsie is (being from Ohio, we weren’t acquainted with the little ice cream cups) when the waitress have our son one for free. I wish I could give them a 10/5!
