Food so-so. Steak on one side perfectly cooked and seasoned. But guessing back half got flared. Burnt. BBQ combo plate skimpy. 2 little ribs. Little slice of sausage. And was supposed to come with sliced beef. Got chopped up meat of some kind. Blackeye peas had no seasoning. Just water. Hamburger was good as well as fries. Need to work on their plates.

While making our way from the Pate Swap Meet in Dallas today, 4/29/23, my lady friend and I found ourselves in Terrell, TX….. It was about 2:00 and we were pretty hungry. Googled “best burgers in Terrell” and were alerted to Cole Mountain Restaurant. Man, was it a success…. super cool restaurant housed in an old railroad building. Lady friend had a brisket plate and I selected a cheeseburger and fries. Let me tell you…..they were both absolutely amazing. Service was stellar, prices were more than fair based on proportions…. and the model train traveling around the cornice moulding area of the dining room was so unique. Definitely a “go to” option if you’re in the area.

First of all when we walked in the smell of butter and sweet rolls filled the restaurant. It was the best smell and best tasting roll we’ve ever had. The service was spot on, nicest people running this business. Our toddler loved the working toy train on the wall. Really cool nostalgia around the place.

Great place to eat! Steaks are excellence! Grilled to perfection . Best steak house in Terrell Texas! Atmosphere is like going back to the western days but in modern times. Been voted the best several times for a reason. One of my favorite places to eat! So if you ever visit Terrell Texas make sure this is one of the stops to eat! Eat where the locals eat!

In the last few years under new ownership. Cole Mountain is still Family owned by brothers that are in the business locally and corporately. They have survived the plague and have done a ton of cleaning and updating but still retaining the charm of Cole Mountain. You will be delightfully surprised with the food, the experience and the people.

If you hate the wait at local restaurants like Applebee’s and Chili’s then come here. The ribeye steak is one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Food is excellent and staff are friendly and on top of it. 5 stars all the way.
