Fantastic food. I’m not sure why some didn’t give it a 5star. We had the jerk chicken and curry chicken. Both were amazing. We order hot. It was perfect amount of heat. The plantains we cooked perfectly. The mac and cheese was great too. The beef patty was obviously home made. I think everything was great. We sat on the patio. It really felt like we were on vacation! I would highly recommend this place.

My first time coming here and the customer service was excellent. I ordered the $14.50 Beef short ribs with jerk sauce and candy yams, as well as oxtails the yams were delicious. Unfortunately, I could not eat my short beef ribs due to the meat being overly seasoned, strong vinegar taste and being extremely hot to even eat. by me leaving and going home, I couldn’t take it back, so I just threw it away. For $22 you get three small oxtails. Macaroni is awful . Being from Brooklyn I had better.

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant but we’re extremely disappointed. As mentioned in several posts, staff members are friendly, but I witnessed several people including a child entering the counter and/or kitchen space, exiting the restaurant to socialize with others in the parking lot, then re-entering to assume duties of bringing food to customers. As for the food it was horrible!!! It was so heavily seasoned with salt, I could not eat it. I ordered curry goat only to discover it tasted like a salt solution used to rinse mouth after a tooth extraction. I returned it for a substitution of a lesser dish in value with there being no adjustment made to the ticket. When staff members finally decided to return to the restaurant from the parking lot, my substitution of the jerk chicken stew was delivered to me cold. I mentioned it to an older woman and she offered to reheat it ( I guess in the microwave), I declined and asked for a bag and we simply left. In case you’re wondering, my husband’s food was was also salty, but he elected not to return his, but ate only about a 1/4 of his meal. We decided to take the loss and leave.

I went last night for the first time and I will definitely be back. I got the jerk chicken, the mild version (they also have spicy), and it still brought so much heat! The flavor was out of this world. Huge portions of chicken and it comes with rice, cabbage, and a plantain.

As I have read other reviews, it’s disappointing to see to response the low ratings. Ppl don’t buy food to keep bringing it back. If everyone brought back their food to you, there would be too much traffic on WT Harris. So we write reviews to share our experiences. The staff are very friendly, however my experiences with food here has also been poor. I am from a very Jamaican household (that can cook our behinds off, lol), and on occasion when we don’t feel like cooking, would like to order some good Jamaican food. Unfortunately we have regretted every time we have purchased from cocoas, for similar reasons stated by previous negative reviews. There is truth behind them because I have experienced them. Based on the companies responses to these type of feedback, there will likely be no improvement. This last purchase of simple beef patties (nowhere puts beef patties in foil paper, they are supposed to be flaky, not soggy) will be our last.

The food was not good on Saturday ordered 3 plates and an order of shrimp that came up to 91.00. I did not ask my kids did they like their food but my curry shrimp was awful. Shrimps were very stuff the rice was hard and the cabbage was mushy. Mac and cheese were okay. It tasted like cold old food warmed up. Maybe it was a bad day. My kids had something different but they didn’t say it was bad or good but their food did look freshly cooked.

Delicious and family operated. A lot of pescatarian options, only had time to try side options. The plantains were on point. Expect island love, music, and welcoming service. Wide selection of unique beverages and best rum punch ever.

It’s still hard to find a great Jamaican spot. I love that they had liquor and the server was very professional. It’s just that the food was so so on that day as well as pricey. The rum punch was good, the fish was fried perfectly just not seasoned, the cabbage was good.

The oxtail and stew chicken were good. The rice was not fully cooked, plantain mush. Cabbage was also over cooked. I think y’all need to take a step back and revamp your recipes and methods of cooking. You will save money if you evaluate your portions, cooking times, and sales overall. You’re not honoring your community if you can’t take constructive criticism and do better. It’s not that hard to cook our native foods. Just a thought.
