Best food ever!! My boyfriend took me here so I can try some authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. I went there expecting decent food but WOW!!

Authentic Puerto Rican food, the service, I had an excellent experience on a Friday at 7:00. I ordered my food to go since the heat in Texas at the time was over 100 F. The atmosphere is as if you were in Puerto Rico time, good people, music and the kindness and sympathy of the Puerto Rican. I haven’t talked much about the food… it’s excellent. I need to finish my mofongo with fried meat… tell me about it!!!

Found these guys at Academy today. I haven’t had Puerto Rican food since I moved from NJ in 2003. Let me tell you, it was all so delicious. Reminded me of being back home. My Mom loved it too. Great food at a great price.

The food was really great. Loved the Cuban sandwich! Pork was tender and juicy. The mofongo was made to order and very tasty and filling. The garlic chicken had a perfect amount of seasoning. Will definitely return and tell others about this place. Looking forward to the restaurant completion.

My husband and I went to this place to try some authentic Puerto Rican food. The atmosphere was wonderful the people were homey but the food was just okay. I ordered the plate with Carne Frita, arroz con gandules, salad and 2 maduros…. the flavors are very much there but it is a bit too salty and a bit greasy. The Cuban was small in comparison but everything honestly is fairly priced. The Cuban was lacking in flavor but the alcapurias were ON POINT!!!

Had to try PR food so I did. I ordered the Fried Pork and an order of the Beef Mini Taco. I liked the mini tacos but they forgot the lime and they were cold and a lil dry but good flavor tho. The Fried Pork plant was new to me,so I had mixed feelings, and that might be due to the fact that I never had PR food before. The rice and peas was alright but in my opinion the peas were overcooked and burnt. The fried plantain was sweet with a little tartness to it, I didn’t like it one bit even after I tried it again. It reminded me of yams for some reason, I’m guessing the texture. Yeah not my thing. Now the Fried Pork had nice flavor, which is what you’d expect, but to me, it was a bit salty. It was topped with the sweetest onions I’ve ever tasted, I can tell you that. They were good. After a few bites in you begin to really taste the salt but I keep eating it because of the tender meat. Don’t get me wrong the overall dish IS good, but it could of been awhile lot better. And the salad matched well with the dish as well. It brought a like balance to it if that makes any sense. So there you have my review. Feel free to try it for yourselves maybe you’ll have a better experience.
