Tried this lovely place today and man was it good. Lots of options fried chicken, fried fish, chicken fried steak, yams, mac and cheese, fried zucchini and lots more. The food was delicious and the staff are so sweet. We met the owner and he is so kind and attentive. We have definitely discovered a gem. We will be back. Places get busy so go before the rush but worth the small wait , it was a great experience.

Very friendly and helpful people. Would be a 5⭐ but entree was luke warm. But will eat there again. Food was very tasty. But didn’t like the collard greens just not got that southern taste.. Tasted canned. Red smashed potatoes and gravy, gizzards, fried okra.

I absolutely loved this place we used to go there when I was a kid. The yeast rolls are just as good. They were so friendly and the fresh fried livers and gizzard and chicken did not disappoint..it was soooo good.

I just had a terrible experience at this establishment. They are welcoming but not to black people. The white customers were greeted with hugs and warmth while I was watched the entire time. I spent $70 dollars to feed a family of five and I asked for a cup of water and was told it would be 60 cents for the cup while the white customers behind me got their water cups free. There was a misunderstanding between the cashier and I about the charges and the manager came in and after she communicated with him in Spanish he told me that I was charged right. After that I got two more of the water cups and she told me that you already took two you can’t get more I just paid $70 dollars and I can’t get 4 cups of water!!!! I spoke to the manager and he told me just go ahead I told him I will leave the cups and he told me that Nobody lips would touch that cup after I touched it! The discrimination and prejudice in this establishment is disgusting. The saddest part is that it was done by other minorities. If you are black or you support black lives think twice before visiting this place.

Like the food here they need to season a little bit more but I understand that a lot of older folks eat here also I give this place five stars but I ran into one problem it’s one of their servers behind the line don’t know she’s the owner’s daughter she seems like she only works there part-time she decided to argue with me on what I ordered and I had to swallow my pride and say OK which I rarely do got the food and drove off knowing I was right and she was wrong I don’t know what happened to customer’s always right even when they’re wrong. But in my case I knew that I was right because I would never order what she was trying to give me she’s trying to give me pork chops with white or country gravy on top I only eat pork chops with brown grav what the other older they always always get my correct good with this younger female there’s always a problem whether it be a look like she has a problem with me or she gets my order wrong whenever I see her I just drive off and go somewhere else I’m guessing that this is a personal thing and I hope that she doesn’t treat anyone else like the way she treated me

This is the most disgusting place in Gunbarrell. The chicken taste like it was fried with the fish. People have fish allergies and you can’t use the same cooking oil. Cochrans will say they don’t do this but there is no other reason the chicken taste like it’s fried in fish oil.
