Simply my type of restaurant. Food was bland, not interesting at all, simply just not tasty. For an oaxacan restaurant it’s considered only an alright restaurant. Service was extremely slow. We waited 40 minutes for our main and another 20 min for dessert. I really question why it could possibly be so slow. Only thing I can say it is very affordable for lunch and that’s great. I really question their star.

Excellent, fairly-priced meal. The food is downright finger-lickin’ good. If you’re not already familiar with Oaxacan cuisine and mezcal, this meal will be eye-opening and educational. Portion sizes are big enough to make you leave absolutely stuffed, yet the judicious use of vegetables prevents the meal from becoming too heavy.

Amazing and lovely presentation of their items. Their mezcal selection is lovely and unique. Their veal garnachas are a must and blew me away. Delish. Their moles were delicious, I got the red mole and my boyfriend got the black mole. The meat in our mole was falling apart and the dish was well composed, although I felt like the red mole was a little too salty. The rice was white, and although was seasoned, I felt like the right pairing should have been red rice. Please do not hesitate to get the peach rice pudding if it’s in the menu because even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t stop eating it.

Came here Father’s Day for the set menu lunch and was blown away. I’ve never had mole before and this experience sets a really high bar for it.

The food here was excellent, the drinks were strong but creative and delicious. I personally enjoy that compared to other Michelin starred restaurants, its a more laid-back vibe while maintaining a high quality of food. The dishes are creative, perfectly proportioned and will leave you feeling like you want to try the other menu items the next time you come!

The yellow fin tostada was great, but the short ribs with mole was way too salty. The desert was very indulgent bordering cloying but nevertheless it was good. Good restaurant but maybe not worth going to just for the reputation of the Michelin star.

We are from South Africa on a New York trip and especially came here to eat. We were not disappointed. Firstly, I’m a convert to Meskal and secondly, the food was tasty, imaginative and well presented. Everything was fresh. My friend had the bone marrow…which was very rish , but so tasty. I had more of the vegetarian and fish options. The mole on both options of short ribs and snapper were excellent. For pudding I had the chocolate mole….oh so yummy. It’s an expensive night out ( * for South African currency) but so worth it.

This place serves great food. If you do a reservation for dinning on a table each person must go with the four course menu. Although all courses were good, I would prefer to seat in the bar and pick myself from the bar menu since I have more flexibility.

a truly epic, unmatched food experience. i went alone and sat at the bar, started out w a beautiful cocktail – Maquina Verde. figured out what i wanted on the 4 course meal and placed my order with my very kind bartender. round 1 – aguachile de toronja was quite possibly the spiciest, most flavorful thing i’ve ever had. the mulita de camote was a welcome, less-spicy item. i will remember those guajillo peanuts forever. main dish was the mole verde. the fish was crispy and tender and the mole itself was vibrant and creamy. the greens were slightly salty but mellowed out after mixing it up a bit. the arroz con leche was a perfect way to end the meal. interior was dark and bustling and music authentic. even the restroom was a vibe. don’t sleep on this place, it’s fantastic.
