We visited City Egg while on a visit to Toledo. It is walking distance from many of the downtown hotels. They have a really cool concept where you place your order on a kiosk and find yourself a seat. There are TV screen displays to show you where your order is in the process. Your name is announced when your order is ready. It was smooth and easy. The food was amazing and the restaurant was extremely clean. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you visit downtown Toledo!!

Friendly and super fast service. Ordered premium bacon for extra cost and it was chewy and yucky. Eggs were cooked perfectly over medium. Kind of costly for breakfast. Was very clean.

The place isn’t built to welcome the customer, it is designed to get people in and people out. They have the restaurant tablet ordering system. I am not a fan because you can’t get any feed back on the actual menu items. Basically, you order and hope you made the right selection. I ordered the “BIG CITY” sausage and biscuit with eggs over easy and pancakes. This was my first time here and I am always looking for good pancakes because good pancakes are to find. So, I ordered pancakes as a taste test. By having the tablet ordering system I wasn’t given and choice if I wanted my eggs on top of the gravy and not under. The gravy pretty much drowned any flavor of the egg. The pancakes were decent but was lacking the crisp around the edges. However, the pancakes did not have the rubbery tough texture from overworking the batter causing the gluten to activate. This restaurant environment didn’t make me feel calm rather uncomfortable and the cleanliness was not up to par.

In Toledo for a Mudhens game and staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on N. Summit St. Several restaurants in the area are not open on early Saturday morning so the City Egg looked inviting for breakfast. Inside and outside seating with no table service. Order your food from a Kiosk and then food is cooked fresh on the grille and a TV monitor shows progress of your order. Very quick service and very tasty freshly made to order breakfast items. My eggs and hashbrowns were very good and my wife just loved her Breakfast Tacos which you must try when you come to City Egg.

Cute spot in downtown Toledo. Prices were a little high for eggs but I thought the iced coffee was decent and despite the price, the breakfast tacos were super yummy.

This place is very low-human contact. It’s more of a cafeteria than a restaurant. Order on a kiosk, watch a screen or listen for them to call your name when the food is ready. I had the spinach and portobello mushroom omelet with hash browns. Bring your own seasoning, as it is not flavorful at all.
