I love City Barbeque! The food always tastes great & cooked to perfection. I’m a big fan of the ribs & pulled pork. The meat is very tasteful, tender, and juicy. I highly recommend it.

A friend recommended I stop in. I ordered the Goldmine pork sandwich which comes with a mustard-based sauce. It was flavorful and tasty. I was full, but not exploding, which was perfect for me. I also tried the chocolate cake. It’s a huge piece. The cake was most and the frosting not too sweet. Just enough flavor to finish the meal.

All around great experience! Didn’t get a picture of it but the Nashville hit chicken sandwich and another must try is the banana pudding!

I had to stop in and try this because Bbq is my favorite! Food was pretty good. I had pulled pork and brisket and greens. Pork was amazing, Brisket was pretty fatty not fall apart and greens were very tasty but super salty. Also I only wanted one main and a side and they said only way to do this was with a kids meal. So I spent the $22 for lunch (which I also ate for dinner). It would be beneficial for them to have an option with one main and a side. I didn’t want a sandwich as it’s too much bread. These were the more affordable lunch options.

While I would have loved to show you what the food looked like before I forgot haha. But I have to say this is the best BBQ in town. Brisket was amazing, turkey was on point, pulled port was great and the one that surprised me was the sausage as it usually doesn’t hit the spot for me.

Their food is great. The place smells amazing. Eccentric options like a specialty banana pudding keep it fresh. The service there has always been outstanding. But what has always shined to me is their turkey. It’s the best meat on their menu. A wide variety of Bbq sauces to fit any palate. And if you live in Portage, it’s close and convenient.

first time going there when it first opened up the food was great. the brisket and ribs were flavorful and juicy. Ever since then, for us anyway, ribs and brisket have been dry and lacking flavor. We keep going hoping to get same Quality of food as before but its been a misses.

We walked in for lunch, and it was a really cute place. The people were friendly. I ordered Mac and cheese and my husband had a brisket sandwich with fries. The food was great, and of course I tried his sandwich! Loved the lemonade! They have great outdoor seating but it was a bit cool today. I can’t wait to go on a warmer day. I love their food!

It is the best BBQ place in the Kzoo area, but it will not be the best BBQ you have ever had. For a chain, they are not bad, but they take inspiration from all styles of BBQ, and it will leave you confused. The brisket is just OK. It does have a smoke ring, but the smoke ring is light, and the cut of the meat is way too thick. I also found the sausage link to be very salty. The sauces are good as they are from all over the US. The coleslaw is on point, but skip the potato salad as it is not traditional . Overall, you will get a great meal, and I will go back for a quick bite to eat.

We truly enjoyed the food here. It can be difficult for me to find somewhere to eat because of my diet restrictions, but the new manager, Bart, took great care of us and fixed my ordering mistake. We will definitely be back.
