ABOUT THE FABULOUS ESQUIRES BIG BAND In 1958, four teenagers approached Paul Colaluca and asked for his help in forming a dance band in the likeness of Glenn Miller. Thinking the idea was a crazy one, he sent the teens off with the mission of recruiting five saxes, four trumpets, four trombones, a bass, drums, guitar, and a piano. He didn’t plan on seeing them again. But they returned a month later, ready to rehearse. The teens were persistent and persuasive. The rest, they say, is history! It was Stan Kenton who suggested to Paul Colaluca that the training program become a non-profit foundation, giving many generations of students access to and training in big band swing music. The Esquire Music Foundation was formally established in 1967.

The Les Elgart Orchestra
When: Saturday, November 25, 2023. Doors Open 6:30 PM – Showtime 8:30 PM. The Les Elgart orchestra is one of the few remaining famous big bands from the 1950s and 1960s that is still in demand! Their popularity gained them their tagline “The Band with THAT Sound!” At prestigious venues like The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, The Savoy Hotel in London, The Everglades Club in Palm Beach, and The Rainbow Room in New York City, they have delighted audiences both nationally and internationally. The orchestra has also performed for proms at many of colleges and universities throughout the United States. They’ve also had the honor of providing dance music for US Presidents and Governors. Brazilian, British, and European performances by the Les Elgart Orchestra have taken place all over the world in addition to performing on the Norwegian Cruise Lines, the famous Mississippi Delta Queen, and the Holland America Cruise lines. Les Elgart wrote “Bandstand Boogie” which became the well-known theme song for Dick Clark’s television program “American Bandstand.” In surveys conducted by Variety, Billboard, and Cashbox in the 1950s and 1960s, the Les Elgart Orchestra was chosen as the Number #1 dance band, among other honors and distinctions. The orchestra also recorded over fifty hit albums with Columbia Records. The Jackie Gleason Show, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and a Peter Marshall-hosted edition of “Big Bands at Disneyland” are just a few of the popular television programs where they have made appearances. The band was also featured in the popular 1958 movie “Senior Prom.” In West Palm Beach, Florida, Les Elgart was admitted to the Big Band Hall of Fame in 1986. Les Elgart’s wife Joerene carried on his legacy through his music after his death in 1995. Joerene Elgart sadly passed away in 2022. Both of their presences are truly missed. The Les Elgart Orchestra to this day is dedicated to keeping Mr. & Mrs. Elgart’s memory alive by preserving the unique sound and style that has stood the test of time. This place is amazing!!! The art deco and preservation of the beauty of this building is so much appreciated. We have gone for many different nights and it has always been spectacular. The food is delicious, the drinks are strong and the service is red carpet! Mambo Craze is the best night to go if you love variety for entertainment. The bands and entertainment are beyond talented! Big thanks to Daisy for letting us know about this gem! We will be coming often and telling everyone we know .

A beautiful piece of historic art deco design and architecture. Just being inside transports you to another era. And while the food and drinks might leave a bit to be desired, none of that really matters after spending a few mins there.

Amazing venue with an amazing atmosphere! If you want to go back in time to old Hollywood this is your place! Just went for the show and not dinner, but make sure to get there on time. We arrived late thinking they would be playing till 1AM, but they were done by 11PM. Right around the corner is Clifton’s Republic bar that you can take the party to after!

I wish the food was more vegan friendly. They did have some options but it’s not worth Seventy nine dollars a person.

Elegant place. Dress up. Bring your partner for dancing. Bar upstairs. Comfy couches upstairs. Great food. 2 drinks each plus 3 course dinner for 2 will be about $175. You can go for dancing only, but limited seating upstairs, unless you reserved a dinner table. I reccomend a dinner table upstairs, because of the view of band n the ballroom is awesome. My only complaint was womens restroom upstairs. It’s only 3 stalls. One wasn’t working, the other one didn’t lock. So basically only one. Trash on floor And no toilet paper on stalls.

We went when there was a 16 piece big band. Worth every penny for the excellent food and service. The cover for the band was reasonable, but the drinks are pricey.

Beautiful set up, could probably use a little more organization when it comes to check-in and such for events. Drinks are pricey so pre-game if you want a buzz. Lol.

This club is such a gem. So old school; a trip back in time without having to travel 88 mph in a Delorian. We went to the New Year’s Eve Eve party and danced all night to music from the 1920’s-1960’s. Big band music and all. It was marvelous and we can’t wait to go back again for Frank Sinatra night. Will keep you updated on the food when we go next time. Only downfall is drinks are a bit expensive for average drinks.
