The food was excellent. It’s not a very large menu but what they have is very delicious. Everything was clean and neat and orderly. Inside was super cold. They had that air condition. I would definitely recommend this to other people.

Went there for Valentines lunch. They had a Valentine menu, but We ordered from the dinner entrées. Wife Had the ribeye and I the sirloin steak. Both steaks were great, as were the mash potatoes. Go here often because we are rarely disappointed and the price seems more reasonable then other restaurants in the area. Also, my wife ordered a Long Island Iced Tea for $9. Was good for the price, but I am sure it would have been better if someone wanted to upgrade to top shelf brands(which is what I do at home). The service was great and the waitress had some great suggestions. And they have some super clean bathrooms.

One of the nicer steak places in the Watkinsville Athens area. It’s not a high-end place like Ruth Chris or Morton’s, for the area it’s good. It has a casual feel, but not to the level of peanut shells on the floor!

We brought my mom for Mother’s Day. We chose to come to Chops and Hops because they had so many gluten-free options. We were seated immediately. My mom and I really enjoyed our meals. The food seemed to be inconsistent though. While my mom and I were very pleased, my daughter and husband were not. My daughter’s steak was supposed to be medium-well. It was beyond well-done. Parts of it were inedible. She also said her sides were extremely salty. My husband ordered his steak rare, and it was cooked medium-rare. He also mentioned his sides were very salty. The wait for the food was rather long, so neither of them wanted to mention the issues with their meals even though the service was friendly. The restaurant was clean, and it wasn’t noisy. People outside were using the reflective windows as mirrors, so we had some tableside entertainment as well.

Service was decent. Looked very short handed on servers. Food was mediocre. My steak was overpriced to me. Had dry aged steak several times at different steakhouse but never had one that tasted like meat was going bad. Braised collard greens did not taste like “braised”. Even the asparagus didn’t taste fresh.

Always excellent food, and now they’ve got me hooked on their drinks– they are deadly delicious! I highly recommend they’re green goddess, but I also hear Garden of Eden is fabulous as well. We’ll try that next! My husband always gets the meatloaf special, I got the fish of the day this last time! Staff is very friendly, and the bathrooms are clean. Good Ambience, and I wasn’t cold, even wearing a dress! Can’t wait to go back!
