Really tasty meat jun, meaty and flavorful kalbi and the man doo is crispy, plump and well seasoned. Small place, nothing special or fancy about it. They’re not super welcoming or friendly, but they are friendly and efficient enough and food comes out fast. Kinda pricey, but what isn’t in Hawaii?

Small family restaurant with delicious food and kind, friendly service. Share the beef bulgogi soup for a taste sensation that is memorable. The green onion and seafood jun is perfectly crisped, accompanied by a perfectly balanced dipping sauce. The banchan (vegetable side dishes) are, as you might expect, first rate… mushrooms even!!! I can hardly wait to go back to try more items from their surprisingly extensive menu.

Ordered the beef bulgogi soup, miso stew, and fried rice with egg on top. Delicious all around. My bulgogi soup was sweet, sour, and tasty all around. So many flavors all in the same place! Absolutely loved it. Miso was good too. A little on the saltier side, but after all this time outside, I could use the sodium. My accomplice finished her whole fried rice dish. Music was terrible however, so prepare for today’s pop for the hour you spend there.

Just discovered this cute restaurant in Waipahu. It’s a bit small (about 7-8 tables) so it got packed pretty quickly. We ordered our usual Korean dishes: meat jun, king kalbi, mandoo, and the stone hot pot mixed rice dish with raw meat and egg (sorry I always forget the name). All of the dishes were great, especially the king kalbi. They also offered a variety of canned drinks (the restaurant is byob). The service was quick and friendly, so there wasn’t much of a wait to take our order or get our food. I don’t always expect much from a “whole in the wall” kind of place, but it was clean, the service was good, and the food was delicious. Will be back again to try some of their specialty dishes that we’ve never had before (we saw a lot of pictures of spicy pork or spicy rice cake with mozzarella on it and it actually looks good).

Love mom and pop shops. Felt home made and tasted delicious. Hit the spot after a long plane ride over the pacific.
