This is my 2nd review of China Wok, they are just SO GOOD and consistent that I thought they deserved it! I hadn’t visited them since late last summer, and was wondering if it was still THE place to go for Chinese, or if that had changed…Well I’m happy to say that it hasn’t changed, the same people own and run the place, and the food is still GREAT! I usually get the chicken egg foo yung dinner (see photos) and I actually get 2 meals from 1 order because you get SO MUCH FOOD!

It’s not bad, it’s just not good either. Some of the most mediocre takeout Chinese I’ve ever had. We ordered general tso and sesame chicken. Even though they’re supposed to be two different dishes the sauce tasted identical on both and they were both not great. Also ordered crab rangoon, it was your typical crab rangoon which means it was good, probably the only actual good food item we had. Lastly ordered a side of lo mein noodles. There was absolutely no sauce on them and they were extremely dry. Every lo mein noodle I’ve ever had has been saucy and thats how I like them.

We get take out at least once a month for the last 20 years. Even when they were in the old plaza prior to Walmart moving in. I have never had a bad meal from them. Maybe the bad reviewers are getting this place confused with the Chinese restaurant on Lyell Ave. Everything is always hot and fresh and ready when I arrive. Never had a problem with a special request like extra spicy or no onions. Always friendly as well.

Went after work to try the Wok Chinese Restaurant on Howard Road. My shrimp egg rolls tasted hard and old. The sweet and sour chicken was hard. The shrimp and rice was okay but they don’t put any vegetables in it. The crab sticks were over cooked. The food is way to over cooked. I will never come back to this place. This place was nothing but a disappointment.

I was just there to place an order. They took the order and afterwards, I noticed a sign that said cash only. They confirmed that is the policy which would have been fine however; one of my co workers was there not long ago and he was able to use his card. Is the policy only for certain people?
