One of the several Chinese food outlets in Newport and I have tried my best to sample from an many outlets and possible in my short stay. As typical of most Chinese food outlets, the interior decor is simple and the place can accommodate between 15-30 guests on a good day. The staff was friendly and the guy at the counter seemed to know all the food on the menu by heart. I understand the place has been around for a while. The food was good (I ordered takeaway to enable me savour the food better at home), freshly boiled rice and a side with chicken and shrimp.

We rolled in late from the airport and even though it was shortly before closing were welcomed with a huge smile. The food was simple, the portions generous, and the taste was great! We will definitely be back when we visit next.

I love the fried dumplings , The Shrimp fried rice is so delicious and fresh cleaned shrimp with bean sprouts, Chicken Teriyaki, you gotta try ! Tonight I’m switching it up and getting the Large fried shrimp, plain lo mein with bean sprouts and french fries.

I have been ordering from China Star II for years. It is 1 of the 3 places on the island I enjoy Chinese food from. Their food always taste’s fresh and hot when delivered to either my work or my home. They are also very friendly and the food is usually delivered before time that is stated. Some days might take longer because they are usually very busy. If you never had their food I would suggest giving it a try.
