I don’t live near here but my fiance does. One day last summer I ordered sesame chicken from here and it was some of the best I’ve ever had!! The sauce had a really good flavor! Sesame chicken is my go to Chinese food order and this place has better tasting of it than any of the two Chinese buffet restaurants I’ve been to in Harrisonburg.

China Star happened to be closed today (July 3), so I ordered from another/larger H’burg Chinese restaurant. We ordered our usual items — Hot & Sour Soup, Singapore Chow Mei Fun and Moo Goo Gai Pan (Chicken). Our comparison found the quality of China Star to be equal or superior across all items. In particular, their soup is much thicker/stronger. China Star also provides more-for-the-money with add-on requests, e.g., adding snow peas to my Chow Mei Fun order. China Star is a small establishment with a big heart!

I have been looking for a Chinese restaurant every since I moved here from MD 1.5 years ago. I have tried most in the area without success. Usually the taste is too bland or the quality not what I had in my go to place in MD. I found this place last week and ordered General Tso chicken. Best I have had since I came to VA. I will definitely make this my go to for VA. Eager to try out the Schechuan Beef which is my other favorite Chinese dish. FYI, I live in Shenandoah. I will go by multiple places I have tried before but it is worth the extra travel time.

This was our first time here and we loved it. Needed something quick after a piano recital. The kids are just thrilled that “we have a Chinese restaurant” now. Portions were way beyond my expectation and very tasty. Thank you for the great service!

We have eaten here many times and ordered a variety of different meals here and mostly get the Special Combination Plates. The Price, Quality, and Quantity of the food is great. The Egg Rolls are my wife’s favorite in town. We have always been very happy. Ignore any other low star reviews.

What a fantastic little place, literally the best Chinese food in town. Really good hot and sour soup, egg rolls, crab rangoon, orange chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. They give you large portions. The chicken is tender and juicy. And service is fast and friendly. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys fast and yummy Chinese food.

I enjoy their food and servings are a good size but the reason for the 3 stars is this is the 2nd time we have paid extra for fried rice and we received white rice. They have gone from a dollar extra to 1.50 extra. The receipt has the additional charge on it so I know I have ordered it. 2nd time of disappointment
