Another victim of the pandemic I think, they used to be really good but now the quality has steeply declined. The best way of describing the chicken they use now is “Subway chicken” in that it’s the same tasteless and chewy texture that is used at subway restaurants.

This has been the only place near where I live that has chicken broccoli that I like. Every other place near here has been weird, some had white sauce, some had dark brown. But I can always rely on China King having good chicken broccoli. And they’re pork fried rice and egg roles are absolutely delicious.

Don’t order Crab Rangoon. Dough was tough and chewy and smelled like stale oil. I think the cheese was a spread of some kind and no crab evidence unless the orange specks were meant to appear as crab. No crab taste. I had never ordered these here, so I thought I would try. Other food had bad reviews, but they always said the Crab Rangoon was great as usual. Now I know.

This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant. I’m not really sure where they went wrong. They used to have food cooked to perfection and if you ordered enough for a whole family they would throw in some free crab rangoons for ya. Maybe new owners? Today I stopped in and I didn’t realize they requested you wear a mask before entering. I dont carry them around anymore and they didn’t have them available, so needless to say I did not feel welcome as I always had been in the past. It felt like she just wanted me to get out and had a very concerned look when I opened the tiny little door they stuff your food in for no contact carry-out. It was a rather strange encounter. In addition to the service being sub-par the majority of the food was disappointing. I ordered general tso’s which was orange chicken instead (the receipt said general tso’s also). The chicken lo mein had very little flavor other than cooking oil and the szechuan chicken didn’t had any spiciness to it at all. The fried dumplings were tasteless and although the box said fried, it seemed like they took boiled dumplings threw them in a pan and took them out real quick. They were definitely not fried. The crab Rangoons and the egg drop soup were delicious as always though. They also have the thin crackers for the soup which are the best ones in my opinion so I do appreciate that as well. Next time I want chinese in the fenton area I will be heading to China Garden in Linden. I may try them again in the future, but not again for a while.
