I decided to try China King because of their online ratings. Well I for one don’t think the positive reviewers have ever had Chinese food outside of Pacolet, SC. That having been said I must admit China King is the best Chinese food in Pacolet. Of course it’s the only Chinese restaurant in Pacolet. I ordered the curry chicken combo, fried scallops and Szechuan shrimp. Well the scallops are the pre battered frozen affair you find in the frozen food section of a grocery store. They were very bland and didn’t have the normal texture of scallops. I assume it’s because they are frozen. The curry chicken… Well it consists of celery, carrots, onions, mushrooms, yellow rice and of course chicken; however, to be honest I couldn’t taste any curry whatsoever. As for the Szechuan shrimp it was okay. It didn’t really have spice to it so don’t fear about it being spicy. Lastly, the egg roll was a bit over fried. All is not so bad as I found the rice to be delicious that’s why I gave them 2 stars. My recommendation if you want Chinese food is to travel 15 minutes down the road to Cowpens and try China One. As for me I will not be returning to China King.

Best Chinese food I’ve had in Gaffney/Spartanburg since One Asian Kitchen closed. My General tsos was crispy and flavorful and the rice was fried with lots of sesame oil and had a nice smoky flavor. This place rocks.

Gotta give China King their due props. I was stuck with a delivery at dollar general distribution. I came upon this place saw the reviews and gave it a try. Food is Great. They lived up to the expectations. You will need to bobtail here if you are a trucker.

Its not just good, its REAL GOOD…never knew this place existed. A drive thru Pacolet on my way to Cowpens is the only reason I know it even exists. BUt the food is great and the family that runs it is great too! I high recommend everybody in this area give this place a try, its the best in the area IMO.
