The orange chicken sounded super good, but is actually really mushy and sitting in a bowl of liquid 🙁 also the rice was stale with no flavor, the spring roll was delicious! I wish that’s all I ordered

This is the BEST place for Chinese food in Grand Rapids! Always friendly and fast! Food has never ever been a disappointment! Seems like everytime I go there it gets better and I’m happy to see others when I’m there now!

I’m traveling for work and wanted a quick bite. Must say, this is cheap food. But it TASTES cheap too. Rice is bright yellow/orange. Sweet and sour sauce stated like straight orange juice, its awful and very very thin. It’s not good at all. I love sweet and sour chicken but I might as well just go grab a bag of it from the freezer section at the grocery store and make it myself. Probably would taste better.

The food is just as amazing as the wonderful family that runs the place! Every thing is very good, especially the steamed dumplings! Support this local gem and the family that own it!

The Chop Suey that I had was just OK. The Sweet & Sour Chicken that my wife had was excellent. The chicken was crispy, even though in was in a plastic container. Her Crab Ragoons were huge. We will try them again soon.

So this review is just for take out, I’ve never eaten in. I’ve been satisfied with everything I’ve ordered. Chinese food is hard to review, because everyone has their preference. But I’ve ordered Chinese food from restaurants that cost twice as much, and tasted the same or worse. I was bummed that China Garden didn’t have teriyaki chicken. But their BBQ chicken (I just like saying “chicken on a stick”) is so crispy in a good way, that I want all my “chicken on a stick” to be like theirs! Also, they were open in a massive, everyone shut down everything, snow storm. So, I’ll drive out of my way to go here.

The worst food I may have ever eaten. Everything tastes like burnt plastic. I literally threw away all my food because it was not edible. Avoid at all costs, do not eat here.

As it shows “open” I was unaware that only pre-ordered food and NO buffet. I ordered a Hot/ Sour soup, what a waste of $ and time. It seemed like leftover tossed together – lots of cheap CANNED carrots and peas (which I do not eat). Will not be back.

Chicken was a weird texture and the general tso sauce was very runny. Szechuan dish was almost completely cabbage, very little meat or other vegetables. I had maybe 3 pea pods and 2 pieces of carrot.

This is the 2and time ordering from China Garden. The 1st time, no complaints. This time, not very good. Our order of butterfly shrimp was an absolute joke. Never saw anything like it. It was all breading with the shrimp itself taking up 1/4 of the breading. The chicken wings were terrible, small knots that tasted funny. Everything else was ok, but not as good as it was the last time we ordered. I don’t doubt that part of the problem was due to it being a holiday weekend, but still, our money was good, we expect the food to be just as good as the money we spent on it.
