I hope this place re-opens soon, it is our favorite lunch spot. Low prices, big portions (I recommend skipping the rice) and most importantly… fresh and delicious food. Service is very minimal but also very fast. I prefer a staff who only comes to my table when called, so the service is just right for me.

Yeah the exterior needs a facelift, but what does your favorite BBQ place look like? China City is one of the few remaining formal sit down, order from a menu Chinese restaurants I know of. Not a buffet or order at the counter. The interior is traditional (at least for an American location) Chinese decor. This fish tank is sometimes a little grungy but huge and greets you at the door, kids love it. They also have some huge round tables to seat 8 or ten folks.

This is the greatest (American)-Chinese food I’ve ever had, and has been since I went there as a kid, in the 70’s. Great atmosphere too. I see 2 bad reviews on this page, and I can’t imagine what the reviewers are talking about. I think one is actually for some other restaurant, and the other must have some ax to grind or something, because what they said is so far out of “character” from what I’ve experienced there…every single time. Their food is a whole-notha-level better than any competitor. Highly recommend Sizzling Rice Soup, Chicken Fried Rice, and Sweet & Sour Shrimp. Perfection!

This year I have ate here twice. The first time was with my family and I. After getting home we were both sick to our stomach. More so me than him. It had been like 6 months at latest since we had ate there and last night I ordered through doordash for myself. While eating I noticed pieces of bamboo wood? in my rice. And everything tasted off. So it was no surprise I woke up in the early morning throwing it all back up. I am disgusted with this place. Their food never taste fresh and there is always something in the food that shouldn’t be. The health department needs to keep a check on them. I remember eating there when I was younger and I swear it wasnt nearly as bad as it is now. Do yourself a favor and save yourself from vomiting. There are way better places to choose from I promise.
