Veteran owned and family operated since 2017 in Newport News, VA. Named after the region in Mexico, Chihuahua’s offers Mexican comfort food like Carne Asada, Carnitas Tacos and fresh Ceviche. We always have house made salsas like classic red, classic white, habanero as well as red and green tomatillo. With freshly shaken Lime Margaritas, 10 beers on tap and many Mexican bottled beers, our amigos never go thirsty!

Really good Mexican dishes- Chile rellenos are really good, wait staff was really attentive. Chimichangas were disappointing – really small like skinny enchiladas – but shredded beef was delicious. Am used to chimis being much larger like a stuffed burrito. Birria tacos are also delicious.

Staying in the area from out of town and wanted something that wasn’t a chain restaurant for dinner. Tried this place out and from the entrance I was glad I did. The hostess was so pleasant and helped me pick a dinner between the two I had in mind. I was taking it out so she offered me a seat. When my meal was ready she brought it right out and let me know everything was hot so to be careful. Again, just so helpful and pleasant. She’s someone they should be proud of, because she absolutely represents the restaurant right. Food was good and portions were large. Enough for two meals. A great price as well. Thank you for being a shining light in a sea of chain restaurants

Food is wonderful. The streak burrito is probably the best I’ve had but service is hit or miss. I’ve been here about 5 times ( again, the steaks burrito is that good) I’ve had an older lady server who forgot all about me and charged me for drinks I never got and I’ve had younger male servers/ Busboys ( that server said she had emails and literally forgot all about us and came to our table laughing about it like we were friends )who have been exceptional. Also the horchata…. SPECTACULAR! they have had live music everytime I went it was a great time. All in all one of my favorite places to dine but when I see that older lady in there I don’t care how long the wait is I sit in anyone else’s section.

Ordered the tableside guacamole for an appetizer and a steak fajita for dinner. Very impressed with the quality and I ate every bite regretfully! Quality of service was very good. My only complaint is the food seems a little pricey for the portion, but I’m also from out of town.

First time here for an early lunch today and they did not disappoint. The service was fast and the food was delicious. I had the lunch special chicken enchiladas. The chicken was tender and the enchilada sauce was flavorful. Unlike some places I’ve been they did not skimp on the ingredients. The pico de gallo was fresh and light complimenting the heavier flavors of the enchilada. Another great place to add for lunch when I’m in the area.

The chips were very stale here. With a big group they served us multiple bowls of stale chips. Big pet peeve for me when going to restaurants that serve chips and salsa. However, my meal was good, could have used to some tweaking and customizing but it was nothing less than what I asked for.
