There was a small, family-owned restaurant that opened up in the Garden Grove city. The restaurant, called Crispy Coop, was unique in that it specialized in Korean Fried Chicken and Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwiches, both of which were new to the area. The owners, a Korean-American family, had brought their family recipes from Korea and Tennessee to share with the community.

As soon as you walked into the restaurant, the smell of fried chicken filled the air. The interior was cozy and inviting, with simple decor and comfortable seating. The menu was displayed on a chalkboard above the counter, and it featured a variety of chicken dishes, fried rice, healthy salads, and soft drinks.

The service was good and we liked the taste of the sweet and spicy and it is crispy, but the original popcorn chicken (without sauce) is utterly flavorless and it’s hard to tell if you are even eating any chicken under the breaded coating- that goes for all the popcorn chicken flavors we got. My kids liked the waffle fries. The salad was fine. I would not go here again though.

My favorite is chicken wings, which are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chicken burger is the best I have ever eaten. The chicken in other places is old and dry, but the chicken here is marinated, which is very tasty and tender. I’m a picky person, but I’ve been back several times here and highly recommend it.
