Everything about this place is authentic and amazing. It is the oldest family-owned Italian deli and restaurant in San jose (Founded in 1908). We tried 3 different sandwiches. The Italian meatballs were the best I’ve ever had! Meatballs are not like saucy cheesy weird American meatballs. They are super herbal and delicious, and they literally melt in your mouth. Their Italian sausages were so good that I bought some extra sausages to keep in my fridge and make some every now and then.

Meatball sandwich was pretty good. Food came quickly, service was quick and friendly. Quiet on a Saturday afternoon. I’ll come back to try the pepper steak sandwich next time. Prices were reasonable for what I asked for. Three and a half stars.

Excellent food! It has a New York-style deli counter with what you might expect in the cold case. LOVE it! I bought an Italian Sausage sandwich and a single side meatball… both of with were excellent. I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their menu soon!

This deli gives you a real slice of history. I imagine this place being mostly unchanged going way back. I had a really tasty meatball sub, albeit on a rather stale roll. I wasnt suprised that there was No dressing. Meatball subs usually just come meat and sauce, perhaps with cheese. However the state of the roll made this a dry yet soggy sando. I wanted to like it so much more. They have shelves of Italian goods, and house made italian sausage, which I couldn’t resist. They had some other hot sandwiches on the menu that looked amazing. Ill give them another try. Nice neighborhood location with a large park with several tennis courts nearby and nearby dog park around the corner

Being the oldest restaurant that exists in San Jose, I had high expectations for this place. I had their popular sandwich with garlic sausage, topped with spaghetti sauce. The sandwich reminded me of like my mom’s cooking – very homely. The owner of the deli was very friendly and helpful as well.
