Amazing food that seems to be a more authentic take on Chinese food. It definitely doesn’t taste or look like the often found mainstream Americanized Chinese food. The presentation isn’t bad either.

Chia Sen never disappoints. I always order the same thing because it is my favorite. The staff is always polite and helpful. Dine in or order to go. If you like more spice in your food let them know when you order. This is one of only a few restaurants that did not sacrifice service and quality of their food since covid 19 hit. Chia Sen only got better. You will get what you order.

Everything fried tasted like seafood the must use the same grease for all the food. The food that wasn’t fried was amazing though. So stay away from fried food eat the stuff they cook in a wok. They he pink pork was the best I have had in years.

I have eaten here 3 times. I enjoy the food so much I now make it a point to eat at Chai Sen once a week. The menu is vast and I’ve tried different dishes each time. Quality food. Excellent prices and huge portions. They also have fast, courteous service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I highly recommend Chai Sen!

Clean, tasty, Americanized Chinese food. One way to tell how authentic a Chinese restaurant is by trying hot & sour soup. The soup was good, but it lacked a little punch. Everything was good but it lacked a little bit of authentic Chinese flavor. Often, audience determines the taste and that’s exactly what it’s happening. This restaurant is for the Westernized suburban mild and boring palate! Nothing wrong with that. Mongolian beef was good, but it didn’t have much flavor. They could have added a bit more oyster sauce and ginger. The triple crown was probably the best dish we ordered, with chicken, beef and shrimp, but leaned on the boeing side. The beef chow fun was good, but also a bit bland and lacked more beef. The curse of having traveled all over Southeast Asia and tried all kinds of Chinese food from the best, made us crave something more authentic which it doesn’t exist in Portland, ME. This restaurant definitely caters to mild Western palate. All the customers were locals. My daughter would love this food. The portion could have been a bit more for the money. Order from the regular menu instead of smaller portion lunch. Overall, clean, healthy, good food with very little MSG which resulted clean taste without any after taste. A good place to visit if you’re looking for a mild Western Chinese food.

Had a Doordash credit so I decided to try a new restaurant. I chose the pickup option so I could just go get it myself but I ordered the chicken and beef pad Thai. First off, don’t order pad Thai from a Chinese restaurant, you’ll most likely be disappointed. I also ordered the crab ragoons which I thought were good but then there was a fishy taste. Now, I know it’s real crab in them but I don’t think they should taste like that. The next day I ended up sick and on the toilet and I know it was the ragoons because I didn’t get around to my pad Thai until the next day. Won’t be coming back here.

I’m not sure if their prices are accurate on their website or if there was some sort of mix up- I was charged 42$ for an order of beef teriyaki sticks and chicken lo mein for takeout. During lunch hours. Never again.
