The tasting menu is the one most people probably go for. Before they begin, they’ll ask if you want a different type of meat, or something special added on like truffle. The tasting menu was an 8 course meal, and it was perfect. Each dish was incredibly well plated and the flavors really balanced each other out. They will give you a description of the dish, and if you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask – they are incredibly knowledgeable about the intricacies of the food. The service was *fantastic*, and the environment is inside an old Victorian home. It takes around 15-20 minutes after you finish your plate before the next one arrives. Expect the dinner to last around 2.5 hours.

This was a once in a lifetime experience. We went on a Thursday night and there were only three couples including us having dinner at night. The service was far and above what I would ever expect. Tatiana it was our fine dining “cruise director ” was simply amazing. The building itself is just beautiful. Even though it’s in the oldest house in Mountain View on its original foundation, the interior is contemporary classic. We had a wild game menu with a vintage wine pairing. I myself and not a big wine drinker and have it really understood the appeal. However I now understand how certain wines enhance the flavor of a meal when paired with the right fod. Dinner was a 3 and 1/2 to 4 hour experience and one that will live with me forever. I live less than a mile away from this restaurant and for 30 years have thought about coming here. I am very glad I did, The people we dealt with (Paul and Tatiana) were able to explain the menu in the wine pairing and where it came from incredibly well. This was not just a meal, this was an event for us and while I won’t delve into the specifics of our meal, I can tell you that it was without a doubt, one of the best meals that we’ve ever had. Because of the vintage wine pairing, our bill was substantial. But at the end of the day, absolutely worth the experience. My recommendations are if you want to go to this restaurant, expect to pay a minimum of $500 for two meals not including beverages. A 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill so tipping is not necessary even though we gladly tipped extra. Our final bill came to $2479.88. (than you visa) lol. This is a Michelin star restaurant in absolutely worth every penny. My compliments to the chef and the staff.

Great food, but way overpriced. Went there for an anniversary dinner. Good food and service, but not worth 3k.

Chez TJ exceeded my expectations. I was blown away by every course. A lot of thought went into every single dish and each ingredient was intentional. With the buttery rich beurre blanc which came with the lobster raviolo, there was fresh bite of citrus. The gameyness of the deer was cut by the buttery mushrooms and celery root. Each course lent itself to the next and the wine pairings were exceptional. The only criticism I would have is that the dessert courses were a little large and had me bursting at the seams (which isn’t a terrible problem to have) and the wine pairing for the dessert courses was a tad too sweet. However, these did not detract from the overall experience. 10/10

I’ve been meaning to try this place out for years, and finally got around to it with several friends. What a wonderful experience. Really nice ambiance, excellent service and the food was amazing. It is everything you would expect from a restaurant with a Michelin star. I do have an issue with the fact that they only have a single bathroom. I understand it’s a historical building, but are you telling me you can’t put a nice porta potty in the garden? It really detracts from what is otherwise a quite pleasant and elegant experience. I highly highly highly recommend getting a wine pairing. You can even split a wine pairing which is what I do because it’s just too much wine for one person.

Food is pretty good, the only miss for me was the palette cleanser between the mains. They had baked Alaska for one of the dessert course! Hard to find dish nowadays. The duck was delicious. The only gripe I have is the timing of each course; for what felt like the first 3/4th of the experience, each course was spaced maybe a bit too far apart (20-30 minutes). Then as we approached the dessert courses, they started coming in almost too fast ( 5-8 minutes within serving the previous one).

What a wonderful dining experience! The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the food was out of this world. The wine paired so nicely with the food as well. The wait between dishes was pretty long, so I probably won’t be dining here again any time soon. It was a lovely dinner though. Many thanks to the chef! 🙂
