Dim sum lunch had generally large quantities with not overly salty sauces. Service was prompt and efficient. There is an 18% gratuity that is automatically added to the bill. This is OK to me as more like a service charge where you don’t have to pay an extra tip. The sign says Grand Opening, but nothing with the furniture or dining room seemed new inside or out.

Everything was great! The food was delicious. We ordered the pan fried crispy noodles, shrimp and scallop sizzling platter, green bean and eggplant combo, clams with black bean sauce, and Peking style pork. Everything was tasty. Service was also great. They included 18% tip in the bill and they made sure that we knew the tip was included.

We came here for dim sum at lunchtime on a Saturday for four people. Wow, no line. The restaurant did fill up after we sat down. Their menu and food are not bad. They have the usual dim sum stuff for $5-$9 a plate/steamer. You can also order off-menu and they might have it. Someone in our party wanted okra (green tube vegetable thing) and they had it over soy sauce. We will certainly go back to try their fried sticky rice dishes. Good job staff at Cheung Hing. Their service is better than some of the big dim sum restaurants down the peninsula. $155 for four people. Mandatory 18% tip.

DO NOT order the Pecking duck from this place. Its a shame this place called some roated duck with some steamed buns Pecking duck and charge as the real pecking duck. The authentic pecking duck comes with SLICED thin duck with crispy skin. Fresh scallions and thin crepe. This is horrible they even bother to serve this in San Francisco. DO NOT ORDER.

Ugh. I hate to post sub-par reviews but I feel like it’s a PSA to let you all know there is a automatic 18% gratuity service charge already added to your bill. To be fair, they did circle it on the second receipt… Coming from decades in hospitality industry, I always start from 20% gratuity in mind. As things fail, I lower it accordingly. I would have considered 15% generous but 18% was their mandatory minimum. The 1st star given is due to the fact they actually had real Peking duck available (without having to preorder). 2nd star because everyone’s having staff issues and you could see they severely needed at least one other person to service their dinner crowd. 3rd star for the food was good but not as expected nor great. The Peking duck’s skin was shaved off (else, it’s just roasted duck) but not crispy. The cut pieces had shards of bone throughout and was hard to easily make and eat your Peking duck bao/bun (sans bones and shards). The 4th star fell off due to really painfully slow service all around- from entry, wait to be acknowledged and seated, wait to take our order, not giving us peanuts with our tea (as observed at other tables), having to ask for Togo containers, having to then ask for our check (was incorrectly charged for 2 half duck @$28 ea vs our whole duck @$48) and getting the revised check, and then for them to process my credit card. Then to add insult, we saw other customers received a nice complimentary dish of mango pudding, and we were served red bean soup. Disappointed and feeling profiled, even though Asian and able to speak/understand Cantonese, we will not be coming back.

Dim sum is good. Service is so so. They do charge a 15% tips on your bill. But they don’t tell you. Here’s a tip look at your bill carefully before you pay.

First, they served the wrong food. When we got the rice plate, the meat and the veggie was ice cold. Not the taste I would normally expect from a Hong Kong style restaurant. Very disappointed.

Food was very good. Not very salty, just perfect. Everyone there was very nice, but I would have enjoyed my dinner more if the dishes didn’t come out all at once. Like the efficiency, but l little too much. The restaurant has not changed much since Mayflower back in the days…will mostly go back.

The restaurant automatically adds an 18% tip to your bill. It doesn’t matter how many people are in your party. Then they give you a bill with an empty tip line. If you are not careful, you will tip twice without realizing it.
