There prices keep going up and the quality is going down. Still good just not the same. The fried shrimp used to be big shrimp and now they are the little ones with a lot of batter. The spicy general TSO used to be spicy and now it is bland with no spice. I don’t have the iron will of a spice food champion. There really was no spice. We had a menu from just a few months ago with the new expensive prices on it but when we went in there was an even newer expensive priced menu.

This place used to be 5 stars across the board. It’s gone downhill over the last few years when it comes to service. The last time I ordered takeout from there, they gave me the wrong meal and then argued with me about it. I made the order, and they read it back correctly, and when I got to the restaurant, they told me I ordered something different. They did make it right, but the lady was quite rude about it.

Chen’s Family dish is the best in Oregon. In my opinion, their General Tsao’s is unbeatable. It is the perfect combo of delicate crisp of the chicken with a sauce that isn’t so hot I can’t enjoy it. This is a dish that satisfies both my husband as well as myself. If you’re looking for a noodle dish, the chicken Lo-Mein has incredible flavor w/ fresh vegetables & are cooked perfectly every time. The rice? Where do I start? We always have a large order and replace the steamed rice from the General Taso’s with the fried for even more leftovers! The staff are always busy busy busy but they are usually pretty friendly. We have been going to Chen’s for >17 years & its reliably hot & tasty. Paying is usually chaotic. You have to wait a bit as you wait your turn to be helped, but what can you do? Its amazing food!Smile, patiently wait and walk away full and happy with a wallet that isn’t completely drained. Did I mention VERY affordable for a family of 5 and that’s hard to find anymore.
