Chef Chen might more than Rowlett’s best Chinese restaurant, it might be the best in the surrounding area. I will drive 40-50 mins to get a bite from Chef Chen. The lunch specials are filling. The egg rolls are delicious as well. My go to is Sesame Chicken with fried rice.

Delicious food fast and fresh! 1st time eating in, but have ordered delivery multiple times. Didn’t disappoint. Had the beef and broccoli and had them make it spicy. Husband had the sweet and sour chicken and they made it spicy as well. A little warm inside, but what can you expect with the cook cooking it fresh!

I ate here numerous times when I lived in the area and have now moved out of state. Being back in the area on vacation of course I had to come straight back here because it is one of the absolute best restaurants in the area. First the staff is so friendly they take great care of you if you dine in and if you take out they pack your order so diligently even putting cardboard in the bag to stop soup from spilling. Now the food. Their sweet crab Rangoon are amazing, their chicken fried rice is to die for I mean seriously how do they get the chicken so moist and tasty, and the hot and sour soup is literally the best hot and sour soup I have ever had. I could live off it. The restaurant is always impeccably clean and to top it all off the prices are extremely affordable. We’ve eaten there three times in the 4 days we’ve been back in town and have plans to eat there at least a few more times before we leave town. Please never stop being such an amazing restaurant!

If you are looking for a truly remarkable Chinese restaurant, then look no further. Each and everytime we have ordered from Chef Chen their dishes are delicious! Some of our favorites which are pictured below. Cathay Combo, which has a fantastic variety of chicken, beef, shrimp and veggies all in a flavorful brown sauce. General Tso’s chicken…crispy fried chicken in a wonderfully spicy sauce and last but not least chicken lettuce wraps… Minced chicken, water chestnuts accompanied with a wonderful dipping or pour on soy style sauce with generous portion of lettuce leaves to wrap the chicken. We have been going to Chef Chen for years and we have tried other places but NONE can compare. Casual, reasonable and always delicious!!!

Food was really good. Staff was amazing! I was unaware they are only open for takeout and delivery, but that wasn’t a problem for them. The sweet hostess set us up at a table and made us feel at home. Would definitely come (order to go) again.

First and last time. Food portion was okay but veggies tasted like they were frozen. The rice and fried wontons were stale. We are there and it was loud. Cooks were banging on the pots and pans and it was echoing in the dining area. Nothing that made us want to visit again.

We live close and have been coming here for years. The quality isn’t near what it used to be, the previous cook was better. Paid $6.50 for the Egg drop soup, it wasn’t thin like soup should be, it was thick like egg whites are right out of the egg shell, slimy and inedible, never like this before and we’ve always ordered soup with our meal. I called the manager, she said we are the only ones today to complain about the soup which is hard to believe. We won’t be back.

Food was not good as it normally is. And I asked about what I was ordering and the lady on phone said yeah that’s what it is. Needless to say it wasn’t what I wanted, so I called and they sent out what I wanted and the delivery driver had the NERVE to say I come here twice and no tip. I said I tipped on my card but you wouldn’t be here twice if my order wasn’t wrong. I’m speechless. Never will I use them again.
