Che Bello is a spacious restaurant with a welcoming staff and decent food. The bread they give you while you wait is just okay. It came out cold and was a bit too dense. The oil and vinegar mixture is just that, no spices or anything else just oil with balsamic vinegar. I was shocked when I received my Gouda Ravioli. It was $19 for 5 ravioli while my friends two large pieces of chicken with risotto and vegetables was $20. The ravioli was good, but there was no protein and the price was outrageous. The chicken saltimbocca was great, it had prosciutto and cheese on top of it as well. The risotto was well cooked and tasted great with the sauce. We got the chocolate gelato for dessert which was nice. It had already started melting by the time it got to the table so we had to ear it quickly. Overall I think the food is fine, just way too expensive for only five pieces of cheese ravioli… that’s not a meal, especially compared to something the same price at the table.

Terrible overall experience. Started with “hostess” who had no clue what was happening in the restaurant. She would even yell at servers in front of patrons. Got to the table and service was SLOW. I get it was a Friday night, but goodness. Then the kitchen ran of chicken. No one knew what was going on. Our server was an absolute sweetheart, but she was the one who had to deliver the news about the kitchen being out of chicken. Then they were out of steak too, and she had to deliver that news. At no point did any sort of restaurant or kitchen manager come talk to us, and even apologize for it. They left it up to the college student. Terrible form. As far as what little food we got, the meatballs were bland and not even close to authentic. The calamari was rubbery. Didn’t get to try any entrees because at that point we had been there for over an hour and just finding out about the lack of food. Seriously, who runs out of chicken at 8 pm on Friday night? Especially when it’s an option in almost every dish. Bad form, bad experience, bad management, good server.

We had not been here, since they re-branded. Had a very enjoyable dinner, sitting at the bar. Service was great and food was very good. The bread they serve for dipping in oil is great and they served us bread with our entrees that is stuffed with garlic Gorgonzola and a side of fig onion for dipping. Very pleased and will be returning again soon.

We just tried Che Bello again because we had previously had a terrible experience and we heard there was a new chef. This restaurant has so much potential if they can get it right. But they haven’t gotten it right yet. They are woefully understaffed and therefore the service at the restaurant is really terrible even though there are some great people there. The food was not bad, but on the expensive side for what it is. We will give them a few months to get it together before we try it again, but a lot needs to improved to make the experience worth the cost to go there.

Adventures of Marty Hawk and Teresa Hawk – last night in Bloomington. Che Bello.. Great Jazz music… John , bar manager, made absolutely fabulous drinks! Cosmopolitian for me and a “special John concoction ” for mom. Mom loved the chabata bread with balsamic and olive oil as an appetizer. Our server KC was attentive and friendly. We ordered a Chicago Pizza, a Canoli and a really good decaf(i hope) coffee. By the time we left the place was filing up. I highly recommend Che Bello!

Amazing Cannoli! The Vodka pasta was really red sauce. Huge Chicken Parm! Outstanding Mushroom and Spinach Ravioli.

Worst experience ever in B Town. Waited over 2 hours and never received our meal. Senior student who was host, bartender, manager and every other job in the place was awesome. But running the whole place after being there 5 months is a joke. Why would ownership even open the doors without proper staffing. We received appetizers after over an hour and they were ice cold. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for how they treat their staff. These employees should never have been put in that position.

This company is terrible to is employees and doesn’t care about the quality of food or service. Ever since Che Bellos walk out the food is disgusting and all frozen, same goes for Hanks (worse than little Caesar’s). They do not understand what it takes to run a restaurant and maintain the respect they think that they deserve for just being the owners. I could not recommend going somewhere less unless you go to hanks or metal works (also owned by them)
