Pretty authentic Thai restaurant, appreciate they entertained my request for extra spicy curry, which is really spicy and I enjoyed it. Good value. One star taken off for slow service and overcharging without getting me a new bill.

Lovely space, great for a date or girls night. Have all the fixings to make your food as spicy as you like. Staff are always friendly. Pad thai and curry’s are all great.

Picked up my food and was almost headed back to mine when I decided to eat the spring rolls in my car, when I opened the box I could clearly see the shrimp had rotted, seafood food poisoning is a serious thing. I went back in to show them and they offered to re-make the rolls but I refused as there was no way to ensure the new rolls wouldn’t come in contact with the contaminated shrimp. Shame on the cook for not paying attention at all! If that’s how they would present my food I cannot imagine the lack of safety that is taken with the other food prepared in that kitchen. Will not be risking my health at this place again.

My experience was very different than the glowing reviews I had read of this place! 🙁

Been to Chai Thai twice now and will come back again. Very tasty and every dish that I’ve tried this far has been great. The curry can get quite spicy even at medium, so I would suggest mild unless you like a lot of heat.

I had a amazing green curry. Nice restaurant!

Forgot to tell them to make the tofu salad mild :-). Still, the cubes were nicely “just” fried, seasoned well with plenty of flavor. Several of the mint leaves were bruised and unappetizing looking. Most aficionados might eat them anyway, but for me everything else was so fresh looking that the bruises stood out.

The lunch special on the week day is the best deal you can get here. Otherwise, I think the menu is a little pricey. Though it is Berkeley and I understand. The yellow curry I ordered was dense with flavor and full of toppings. The fried calamari was very light and crispy but I’m pretty sure it’s not fresh squid.
