Cevichero de Berkeley is a subsection of Cancun restaurant. It took me a while to find it because of this discrepancy between what is listed on Google Maps and the signs in front of the building.

I got the milanesa torta and it was SO good, I would go with potatoes on the side rather than tortilla chips even though they are really good too, but these potatoes are a must, they are steamed and have some lime on top with a pinch of cilantro, agua frescas are a must too my fav is horchata mixed with strawberry

The service is excellent and their ceviches and aguachiles are very tasty and the ingredients are very fresh, the leche de tigre dish is incredible, highly recommended.

The ingredients of their ceviche while very few they are fresh. The plate is tasty. The portions are quite small and the dish is mostly pieces of cucumber. They skip on quite a few staple ingredients in Mexican ceviche. Also, they do not provide any extras, like limes and salt, unless you ask. The salsa bar, extra lime and salt saved the dish for us. Their service is fair and they are friendly.

I had not been here since before Berkeley Station got the new entrances, quite some time and they didn’t have the ceviche menu then either. The ceviche was ok but I didn’t think it was a very good value for the price, I know about portion control but this is a little extreme. The 1/2 rotisserie chicken looked beautiful when I went up to the counter to pick it up so imagine my surprise when I discovered that it was not hot or even warm, a sin in my book. I’m willing to pay top dollar for good food, especially in these hard times when restaurants need support, but the quality and value have to be there.

I was seriously disappointed with the direction that Cancun has taken. They reduced their menu to fewer options, which I can understand because of Covid. But they added a torta station and I was NOT impressed. Tortas should be made with soft bread bolios or flat soft torta bread but they use baguettes which are hard and chewy. Not good for tortas. I ended up not eating half my sandwich. And their salsa station no longer has the delicious salsas anymore like pineapple or strawberry. Just basic salsas. I also miss the old wicker chairs that were soft and comfortable. Now they are small metal chairs and uncomfortable. Just made me want to leave faster. Just lost a loyal customer.
