This is one of my favorite bars to meet up with friends who work downtown. The bartenders are super friendly and knowledgeable. There is one absolutely amazing waitress, Pilar. She is gorgeous and sweet and makes dining at this bar so very pleasant even when she’s super busy! Please tip her well she’s very hardworking and tries to make sure everyone is having a good time!

Popular spot for post work drinks for anyone working downtown. You’ll find alot of stock exchange bros and federal employees wandering around. To note: if you order a mixed drink like a rum and coke… you will get a glass of rum and can of coke on the side. They don’t mess around here.

The drinks are good and strong, the service is okay, but the food has seen a decline in quality and a huge price jump. The truffle fries, over $14 for a small plate of soggy cold limp fries. The brussel sprout salad will have you wondering if you ordered the right thing. The Caesar salad with no chicken and way too many crushed up croutons will be $15. There are better places to go for decent food, but the drinks are still good.

Our group of five was greeted abruptly and rudely for lunch by the bartender asking for drinks. Food came quickly but was sub par at best. Server just slapped down the food on the table & tookoff. I never had a chance to ask him for a refill. Had to go to the bar to get a refill. Cold fries, cold potato chips, & overpriced, bland turkey pesto panini. A guest with whom I was dining asked for a side of ranch, got dill dip and was charged $2.

You CANNOT beat the value on the drinks here. While everyone else in the area charges about $15-20 for watered down drinks, this place is about $12 a drink and let me tell you…THEY ARE STIFF AND STRONG! I dont even think they put mixers in your drink, theyre literally all alcohol! Been coming here since college and will continue to frequent until they close or ban me!

Coming to Ceres after a local friend’s recommendation. Asked for a good recommendation to Maria, who’s been working for Ceres for 25+ years, and she told me I wont be disappointed. She was right. All of the staff were very attentive and generous. I had a great last meal at Chicago and hope to be back again soon.

Do not order drinks off the menu. Our server did not understand what a skinny margarita was and we were charged $34 for EACH margarita and they still weren’t skinny. They did nothing to rectify the situation either.
