Eating at Central City Cafe was a delightful experience. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with warm smiles and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home. My white bean soup and cornbread were divine. The key lime pie is to die for. The homemade foods served here are absolutely scrumptious, evoking a nostalgic taste that reminds you of great home cooking growing up.

To be honest, I don’t remember what I had when I went. . .but I know it was good. Like, I have nothing but positive feelings for Central City Cafe but I’m not drawn to go back. I would not have any objections if I was with a group of people who wanted to go.

Wednesday, 7/26 we were seated with no wait at 12:45pm. We left af 1:40pm. We never got our food after waiting over 45 minutes, so we got up and left. The waitress was by far the rudest, most unpleasant waitress we have ever encountered. My husband has difficulty speaking sometimes due to illness. She interrupted him every time he tried to speak; he didn’t even get to complete his order because she cut him off and walked away. She never set an expectation that food may take a while to be served, and she never checked back at our table for over 30 minutes. My husband asked her for the check for the drinks at about 40 minutes into this and instead of complying, she yells at him that they had been slammed so we should expect that it would take a while and it would be right out. After 5 more minutes, we left. We sat there long enough for me to see how dirty the place is; it needs a serious wash down! Horrible experience.

Wow, came to Huntington to visit a friend, it’s the first time I’ve ever visited the city. My friend took me here and while it was super crowded because of the fest, the service was awesome. We waited a while to be seated as it was super crowded. Once we were seated, we ordered and the server (I believe she was one of the owners) came back with our drink super quick (also brought a pitcher of soda which is a genius move when you’re a busy server) there were only a few cooks and they were busier than normal. Our food took an hour to come out but the server gave us free macaroni salad and free slices of the best key lime pie I’ve ever had. When our food finally came it was delicious. Fresh veggies on the American club and hand smashed burgers made to order. This place is a great example of good customer service. Can’t wait to come back to Huntington!!!

Needs an update and better service. Food is good. Missing flavor. Found this place passing through and heard it was on triple D. Unfortunately I give this place a double zero!

This place reminds me of a few places I went to growing up. It’s full of old photos and really has an old timey feel in the best way possible. The meatloaf is awesome and I love the little slice of watermelon they give you on the side of the plate! The servers are so nice and it’s family owned and family operated! I waited way too long to try this place so please don’t make the same mistake!

Proud to say I’ve been a regular here for a little over 2 years. The team they have here is absolutely wonderful. Everyone is kind and easy to talk to. The food is also absolutely delicious. I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered. If you’re looking for food that’s good for the soul and an atmosphere that invokes a warm sense of nostalgia, this is the right place. The whataburger is a great option and the chicken salad sandwich is also great but if you want my favorite, get the Reuben with Chilli and cornbread. Tell them Rosie sent you

We had to wait for a place to sit. We hardly had anyone checking on us. Didn’t have the food that I wanted (meatloaf), so I got the baked steak. It was like eating a piece of leather. Ask for a roll and got cornbread that was burnt. The coleslaw tasted old. They don’t have kid friendly options at all.

We arrived at the Central City Cafe right before they were shutting down for 10 days for vacation, and because of that, they had not re-ordered some of their food. We really wanted to try the meat loaf, but we were sorry to hear they had run out. However, the cheeseburgers we had instead were REALLY good, loaded with cheese, and huge! The menu had a lot of great comfort foods, and we look forward to a return trip someday when they’re fully stocked. Service was excellent, and no fewer than 3 people came to our table to be sure we were happy. This is a small casual place with great food and great people. Highly recommended!
