Huge shout out to Chef Michael, Chef Frank and Bryce. They are doing something special here. The food is absolutely delicious. The presentation is top notch. The service is excellent and the drinks are really good. Consistency is very important to me and I’ve eaten here multiple times for breakfast and dinner. Each time is a positive experience. I can say that this is my favorite restaurant in St Augustine. Try the pasta dish and thank me later.

My boyfriend and I were spending a long weekend enjoying a trip to St Augustine. After searching for a restaurant near our hotel that was open after 8 (very few for such a touristy town) we came across Castillo. After a 10 minute walk we were pleasantly surprised to walk into a classy, intimate restaurant. We were greeted immediately and sat at a quiet table. Our waitress Kristen was very attentive but didn’t hover, which was wonderful. We asked a few questions and even met chef Michael who was very nice and chatted with us for a bit. Our food came out about 10min or so after we ordered. My boyfriend got the pork belly bao buns… that pork belly, oh my goodness! My BF is super judgy when it comes to food so when I tell you he said it was the best pork belly he’s ever had, that is an understatement. Crispy, fatty, full of flavor….amazing. I had the Duck, it came with grilled asparagus and smashed potatoes. The duck was cooked perfectly with a nice crispy skin, and the sides were absolutely delicious. I wish I had not been so full, because I would have loved to see what the dessert was like. When we come back we will 100% be eating here. Service A+, food A+, atmosphere A+.

I’m genuinely confused as to why this isn’t at least a 4.7 star restaurant. Seriously the BEST coconut shrimp we’ve ever had, the scallops had the melt-in-the-mouth goodness, the Brussels were ACTUALLY crispy (not oil-soaked/fried), and the drinks totally knocked our socks off. The apple cranberry tart was absolutely made in-house and was exceptional 5 stars is an easy decision here. Wait staff was also excellent and we were very well tended to.

It has valet parking, which is free if you are eating at the restaurant. The ambience within the restaurant is amazing. The chef walks around and ask you how you’re doing. Sparked a conversation which is nice. Our waitress Amber was very nice. I ordered the smoky, black berry margarita. It was very strong. The taste wasn’t for me so I can’t recommend. my husband ordered the Long Island iced tea top shelf. It was also strong but he enjoyed it. We ordered for appetizers the truffle fries the dipping sauce was delicious. I ordered the pork chop which came with mashed potatoes broccoli and grilled apple the presentation on point and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the short ribs so Tinder and delicious, very little fat. I would dif recommend you check out this spot it’s a winner

Loved the drink menu, definitely will be back to try dinner. We had appetizers and if you are picky like me with calamari, this place makes yummy calamari! The menu had a broad range of options so when I go back, I will definitely take more pics. For what we had, delicious. Serving sizes were large and we had left overs to take home.

So, went out for fathers day, first time at this place which looked fancy but was not, wine, nothing great, wanted something Italian but this was the low of the low, calamari was not eatable, you could not chew it, the truffle fries where disgusting and full of oil, waiting for my main course and see how that is, main courses where mediocre but 2 out of 3 good in the eyes, no a place that i would recommend for food, sadly Saint Augustine is touristy and just that, no a foodies town, SA please do something about that, don’t expect for people, to come and leave their wallets, there are other tourist cities and towns with cheaper and AMAZING food ! No excuse SA !!! (Leaving here for over 5 years now and nothing has changed)

This place was divine. From the food, to the atmosphere, to the wonderful service. Nice bonus surprise free valet parking if you’re dining at the restaurant. Aliyah ( I know that’s not right on the spelling Google didn’t post my first review with proper spelling of her name) who is local to the area of St Augustine was our server she was super fast, knowledgeable about the menu, and had good recommendations on other cool things to do and places to eat. I got the ribeye Meal which was super fantastic. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area!

We had an amazing evening celebrating our friend’s birthday! Everything from the wine selections down to the dessert was perfect! We had the opportunity to meet Chef Michel and the restaurant manager Lane- both made sure our evening was special. The Caprese Salad had both basil and mint added to it delicious flavor. There is an herb garden outside of the kitchen where they grow their own herbs. The Sous vide pork chop was tender and perfectly cooked! The Lobster Mac and cheese was delicious with chunks of lobster and just the right amount of cheese. We also had a special of squid ink pasta that was out of this world good! We finished off with the pretzel brownie that was the perfect ending to a wonderful night! Our only regret was not having time for cocktails in the bar area!
