Excellent food. Not authentic but tasty and fine dining. Nice staff. A pleasant place to have lunch or dinner.

We eat here every time I visit family in Placerville. The food is top notch and more unique than the average Mexican restaurant. Yet, it’s not so “fine dining” as to lose the comfort food feel. In particular, we love their chips’n’salsa, black beens, and green rice. My wife thinks they serve the best chili relleno she’s ever had, and I’m a big fan of the Enchiladas. It is expensive though, with prices hugely increasing over the last few years; but, that’s everywhere I’m afraid. Last night our server found out that it was my wife’s 40th B-day and she brought out a piece of chocolate cake with a candle and sang happy birthday. I wish I could remember her name because her service was top notch. If you have the funding, I highly recommend this place (good beer selection too!).

The food was moderate (5-6/10) at best, we ordered Chile Verde, Chicken Fajitas, and Steak Fajitas for pickup. All of which should have been roughly $15-17 each according to their menu online but when we got there we were charged roughly $25 each. We were also charged to run a card which we were not notified of when we placed the order. We were also not notified of the price increase when we ordered either. On top of all of that, the meals were just thrown into the bags which led to one of them completely soaking all of the other dishes. Will not be going back.

We went for margaritas with chips & salsa ! It was perfect. Randy was the bartender, and he made the perfect drinks! He’s such a sweet guy, too.

It’s really concerning that this place is so highly rated. I guess it’s due to the customer service and pretty place because the most fundamental product is not good. The food is not good at all. Lacks seasoning, and it honestly seems it’s coming from frozen goods.

Have been eating there for years. Ordered my favorite salad. It was half the size with very little of the usually tasty ingredients. The price had gone from 16.85 to 20.50. Definitely not worth the money. Very disappointed.

This is a nice place in downtown Placerville, right on Main Street. Food is Mexican and well prepared. Service is excellent and ambiance is pleasant. I lowered the number of stars I awarded because they charge to use a credit card. It was only $0.75, but it’s petty and I will NOT RETURN. A business signs on with a credit card company to offer their customers the option of paying with credit, it’s a COST OF DOING BUSINESS. If they don’t want to accept credit cards, they have that option — presumably, taking credit cards will increase the likelihood of people eating at you restaurant, but that’s a business decision. When you make a decision to pass a surcharge on to your customers directly (as opposed to just building it into your pricing), you decide to honor the almighty dollar over your customers. I will not do business with any company that passes their cost of doing business to their customers, it’s a blatant insult. Yes, it’s only $0.75, but it’s the principle.

The chips and salsa were really good. But most of the food was lacking seasoning. There were two standout dishes people at the table got though, the Mahi and the Tamales. Outside of those though, everyone else was super meh 🙁 Service was fine, I think they were understaffed tbh, but everyone was very friendly. If you feel like Mexican in the area, it’s fine.

We really wanted to enjoy a good mexican lunch, we left wishing we had chosen somewhere else to eat.

The Pasta Mexicana is zesty with a pleasant spicy kick. The shrimp altogether is cooked to perfection and also pairs well with the Fajitas Combo. Portions are generous and the atmosphere is always friendly as well as fresh
