In 2016, Carolina Barbecue Company began as a food truck and catering business in the greater Charlotte, NC area and a festival concessionaire throughout the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee.
In September 2018 we opened our first brick-and-mortar restaurant, serving our delicious smoked meats in Locust North Carolina.

Great tasting barbecue. Yummy hush puppies. Portions are smaller than normal BBQ places but I am totally fine with that. Service was quick. Girl at counter was friendly. We need good BBQ in Locust so I hope they stick around.

I heard they were closing so I decided to come by. It was absolutely amazing. I had the pork plate with Mac and cheese and tater wedges. Everything was great. I don’t know why they are closing or if they are moving but I really hope they are just moving. Idc if they just use their food truck. I will eat there very often. I wish I would have taken photos. Best bbq I’ve had in a few months. 10/10 would recommend.

The past two orders of Brisket Tacos I’ve gotten from there have been absolutely amazing! The tortilla shells have been toasted to be just crispy enough without cracking when being held, the brisket has been juicy and practically falling out of the taco. Couldn’t recommend this place enough, they’re simply wonderful.

Ate there today and by far didnt live up to there reviews. The pulled chicken was just clumped, not pulled and tasted old. My wives pulled pork was no better. The hush puppies were over cooked and hard as a charcoal briquette. The baked beans tasted like cheap store bought beans. The macaroni & cheese was ok. The Brunswick stew was ok.

Well, as someone who has for the past few years is on the lookout for a new place to eat I found Carolina BBQ a pleasure and treasure to find. Use to go to this location when it was by another name and just noticed today the name had changed. Told the lady that checked me out I stopped going there because I consistently found the pulled pork very skimpy and the price was not justifiable. And I’m a older man who eats very little. This place has at least for me the best BBQ I’ve ever had! And the sides I had, green bean casserole, that I don’t recall seeing on any BBQ place menu and was recommended by the very pleasant young lady who took my order was excellent! Also the beans and the hush puppies couldn’t have better! And the portions at least double that of previous owners. So, know I have gone on and on but finding a new place that I don’t walk away from very disappointed and sometimes angry and not feeling like I’ve been ripped again is such a delightful pleasure! And the staff were so nice which has also become difficult to find these days. As the lady that checked me said to me as I was walking out. “You’re in for a pleasant surprise”. And true it was! So I find every thing about you first rate so keep it up! We need you!

Oh my ! Great, great food. New to the area and wanted to feed our friends who volunteered to help usmove. Carolina BBQ was recommended and we wanted to have some vegetables included in the meal. We ordered BBQ, pulled chicken with fixins’ and it was absolutely delicious. Already been back ! And will make this a favorite dining spot ! Thanks Jennifer and crew ! Not the best, not the worst. Brisket taste like it is prepared in a crock pot (Pot Roast), not smoked. This is very far from Texas BBQ, so far in-fact, might as well call it Oklahoma Style. The Pork is on point though! But Texans only have an acquired taste for pork…

I only gave 2 stars because I’ve had their food before, and it was good. And there’s always been a man behind the counter (possibly the owner) who was always super friendly. But yesterday I bought 1.5 lbs chicken, brisket mac and cheese, along with a few other sides. The chicken was almost too salty to eat and the mac and cheese was tasteless. And the older woman behind the counter was rude, almost to the point of making me walk out. I sat and waited on my food, and heard the 2 women working talk about messing up my order-“that was chicken, not pork”. Not sure if they had to rush to make the chicken and that’s why it tasted like it had a whole container of salt in it? I had bought this meal for my husband’s bday because he’s always loved this BBQ and hadn’t had it in so long, so I drove from Monroe to get it. If we lived closer, I would have just returned the salty chicken.

It was the BEST bbq and smoked chicken I have ever eaten! I wish I lived closer I would eat there several days a week. I missed out on the dessert bc I was so full but will definitely get it next time no matter how full I am. The staff was awesome. I Can’t imagine how anyone could post a bad review.
