Set for a hour before getting food, when we finally got our breakfast my fried potatoes weren’t cooked and soaked in cold oil, my biscuit was so hard on the bottom I almost bent my fork and even the hot sauce bottle grossed me out with the thick layer of crust cause it had never been cleaned.

We took a detour off the highway based on the good reviews. They were busy and had 1 waitress. I feel like she did her best with what she was working with. But that means only 1 coffee refill after asking, waiting a long time for the check, etc. Another employee came in seemingly to help clear tables but seemed irritated when I asked for a refill as the waitress was busy.

The food here was amazing. And oh my goodness. Get their sausage gravy and biscuits. You will not be disappointed. Our waitress was amazing with the regulars but just ok for us. She was not mean but not good either. Let’s face it though, we went there to try the food and it was great. And hey. They won the best of the best breakfast award. It’s good. Very good.

I recommend this place to any out of towner. Great history. All the food is amazing, the staff is very nice and the owners are usually there and ready to talk about the town. I highly suggest you try the Carl’s chips!!
