I traveled from Charlotte to visit J&S Wholesale in Asheboro and worked up an appetite loading items in the sun. I left out to the right going towards the traditional fast food locations and saw Caribbean Cuisine Paradise. I decided to stop and see what they had on the menu to take something to go, but when I walked in the amazing aroma of caribbean food was in the air and my mind quickly changed to dine in. I sat at a bar height table (so comfy) and got to ordering.

Had the ham/cheese (jamon y queso), chicken (pollo), and beef (carne) empanada. They brought me back to childhood in the DR. Very delicious and authentic. Had the shrimp and rice with a side of red beans (camarones con arrowz y habichuelas). The flavor and texture were on point. Cafe con leche was really good. The chinola (passion fruit juice) was tasty but a lil watery which is fine with me. The only 2 critiques: tail on the shrimp and you really shouldn’t serve hot food directly on styrofoam since ingesting melted styrofoam has been linked to cancer. Other than that, the service, ambiance, prices and food were quite satisfying. Suggestion* serve Presidente beer and you’ll be complete. Thanks!!!! PS compliments onthe wall art.

My dad and I had been running errands in Asheboro all afternoon and we skipped lunch so by dinner time we were very hungry and Caribbean Cuisine Paradise had been on our bucket list. We stopped in and walked to the counter. The owner was so kind, warm and inviting but gave us time to make up our minds on what to order. It was so difficult to decide because everything sounded good. We ended up choosing the Bolitas de Yuca, Sweet Plantains (Plato de Maduros), a Pollo Empanada, and Carne de Res. A little bit of everything.

Me and my husband just moved here from NJ, my husband is Dominican and was excited to finally try authentic Dominican food. the food is not authentic at all and doesn’t taste good. I think the Goya frozen empanadas was better than the ones I bought here.. the customer service is horrible… and nothing about this place is Dominican except for the decorations. Don’t waste your money here!

I was very disappointed with this place. The food was horrible. It was not Caribbean. The sancocho tasted like a salty beef stew with a pork chop in it. It didn’t look out smell like sancocho, there were also no vegetables. I couldn’t finish it. I tried the stewed pork chops and they were also horrible and unpalatable, they didn’t look like pork chops at all. They might have done a better job grilling the pork chops. I also didn’t like the red beans. Besides the food the atmosphere was okay, they had pretty painted walls and lots of space outside although inside was a little crammed. We dined in and the service was ok, she did forget a couple things and although she asked if we were drinking in our taking out the food was provided in take out containers and when we asked for a bowl for the soup we got a cheap plastic container (see photos). I doubt I will return and I do not recommend.

Bought the chicken empanadas, and they were good. Definitely better choice than other fast food options and at a good price. Only thing I would add is the pricing to the menu options. I’m going back to try more.
