I’ve been to Cardellinos 4 times now. I finally decided to write a review and I’m glad I waited, as I’ve been able to take note of the consistency of quality and service.

Brought my mother here because we wanted to go somewhere nice while she was in town and I was craving pasta. I made the reservation online that morning and only really early or late reservation were available. We got there five minutes before they opened and we’re waiting with a group of people outside. They opened the door and seated us right away. We were a table of two so they sat us in the high booths right by the door next to the window. On the other side of the windows at another couple and kind of made us a little uncomfortable but we pushed through it. The inside of the restaurant had a green gentle ambiance that was pretty welcoming. Our waiter walked up to the table and to great us but he carried himself like he did not want to talk to us.. to be honest we saw him only three times. The manager checked on us twice and a servers who brought us our food both times (appetizer and entree) was not him. He only brought us out our drinks. I will talk later in my review why I mention this..

I was really interested to try Cardellino, I’ve heard good things! I started with a dirty martini, 3 Bleu cheese olives? Perfect. The burrata and corn was really fresh and tasty. I also tried the saffron and corn ravioli, so good. The service was very attentive.

Wonderful. Wonderful is all I can say about this place!!! First time here at the bar, and it is wonderful. The sun is not beating through. The air is on. The bar is bright, and the atmosphere is lively. Great outdoor space, wonderful indoor space. The food!! The wine list is nice, but the food!!! Wow. Love this place.

Before heading over to Rich’s & Flick’s for a night of dancing I wanted a good Italian meal and was craving pasta. I went with the Spicy Rigatoni and had the Roman Forum for a cocktail. Loved it! Quick service and lovely atmosphere. When I come back to San Diego I’ll definitely will be coming back.

Came here Saturday around noon with a reservation for 4, but wasn’t very crowded so I don’t think we needed one. We sat outside – they have heaters and umbrellas and we saw other people with a dog! We would have brought our pup had we known it was dog friendly.

I made an early dinner reservation for Sunday night. I found parking about a block down from the restaurant on Goldfinch. I ordered the Macchina Verde and the Crostini at the bar. Both were delicious! At the table, we ordered the Tuscan Experience. It was well worth the price and our group of 4 was well fed (and we had plenty of leftovers). Everything was great from start to finish, but the standouts for me were the Filet Mignon Carpaccio, the Lamb Lollipop, the Bucatani Amatriciana, and the NY Strip. We also ordered a side of broccoli, which was incredibly flavorful. The deserts were great too. At the end of the meal, we were given a bottle of Limoncello to share. One of the members of our group doesn’t drink. The service team must have picked up on it from our orders throughout the night, but we never verbalized it. They brought out one shot glass with lemonade so that our friend would feel included in the cheers. That was extremely thought and spoke to the quality of service. Between the good conversation and Tuscan Experience, we were there for a little over 4 hours. Carter was an amazing server! He’s was knowledgeable, attentive, and kind. He honored special requests and even helped me find my phone. I plan to request him as my server when I return to Cardellino.

Beautiful space with high ceilings. Inviting bar in the middle of the restaurant and outdoor seating available. Make a reservation and give yourself time to find parking. Hungry after a hike so stopped by for brunch. Food was tasty, tried a variety of dishes *shown in the pictures). Banana bread was dry but the mascarpone cheese made up for it. We ordered the cinnamon roll in a hurry because we heard they run out by noon. It was huge and not too sweet. Cucumber citrus mimosas were refreshing. Good service. Was so full that it sent me into food coma.

Ate here and the atmosphere was nice, it was decorated real well. The food comes in big portions so they are sharable, prices are right where the should be especially since you and another person can share most things. The steak was cooked to perfection I would love to come back here whenever im back in San Diego.

My boyfriend and I ate here on Christmas Eve and were blown away by the food, service, and restaurant environment. The drinks were also extremely yummy.
