What a fun and relaxing restaurant experience . Also we noticed a boat docked belonging to the restaurant. The boat looked like it was rented for a birthday party. We sat outside on tables and the place was very busy inside but not that many people outside. There are lots of different rooms and it’s a large restaurant. It’s a casual place and menu not super fancy either. We had a very large bacon cheeseburger pizza. The crust tasted very good and many good toppings, bacon, onions and pickles. The waitress was very nice and worked quickly though the place was busy.

I pre-ordered my food for takeout and the server was helpful yet seemed annoyed when I inquired about different food options. The background noise was loud while ordering over the phone; making communication more challenging. When I entered the bar and grill it was moderately busy and had a retirement age feel. The veiw was beautiful out of the lakeside windows. I paid $95 for 5 meals: 3 fried walleye sandwiches and two shrimp baskets. The shrimp baskets tasted good yet the walleye tasted like mercury and grease. Ididnt take pictures because the food looked great, yet I wasn’t able to finish my meal.

Server saw us walk in and sit at a table. We waited for about 10-15mins for someone to bring us menu’s and take our drink order. I had to walk up to the bar and ask for menus. We proceeded to sit there waiting for service for another 10mins. Server walked past us multiple times and didn’t even look at us. A couple people that walked in 20mins after us got served right away. Ended up walking out and going somewhere else. Very disappointed because I have heard good things about this place and this was my first experience here. I will not be back.

Showed up on a Friday night, we sat ourselves and proceeded to just watch the waitresses walk past us not even glancing toward us. Customers that showed up after us got served no problem. We had to ask for menus at the bar which seemed odd to the bartender by the look of her facial expressions. We sat there for about 15-20 minutes and ended up leaving with no service. It was not that busy in there at all either.

New owners since October 2022. SO MUCH BETTER than previous management! It’s like night and day. I had the Broasted Chicken and coleslaw, which was delicious. Met one of the new owners, Chris, who seems like just the nicest guy. Owns it with his son Andrew,whom I haven’t met yet. Our waitress, Lisa, was steller! Very attentive but not intrusive. Being new to Long Beach/Glenwood area ourselves, we’re grateful to have Captains in the area and under new ownership!

We went to the comedy show they had on the 10th of Feb and it was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! The comics were edgy and their brand of humor was intelligent and fearless. We had the time of our lives and then got to visit with the comics one on one after the show. They are top notch and we’re going to be there EVERY time they come to our area!
