We had a group of 10 retired Winn-Dixie managers. The restaurant gave us a private side room, we had a wonderful server, Samantha. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was wonderful. I had the fried dill pickles is one of my sides and it was wonderful!

Ligaya ‘Gaia’ Marie
I used to go to Captain Joe’s back when I was a little girl. I’ve been all over the country, living in major cities here and there, having experienced restaurants outside of South Georgia, but nothing can beat coming home and having Captain Joe’s. The food and sweet tea are always amazing. Now that I’m in my 40s, it is just as awesome and just as I remembered it. I am always excited to enjoy my visit. Thank you for continuing to serve great food and customer service throughout the years.

It use to be one of my favorite places to eat but I haven’t been in a few years. I don’t know what has happened to it but it was a big disappointment. I ordered coleslaw with my meal and got ff instead. My husband ordered his steak medium well and it was brought medium rare. The crab salad used to be their awesome signature salad and it tasted like a can of crab meat dumped in a tray and with nothing else in it. The chocolate delight and banana pudding was mostly cookies and crust with very little pudding with a lot of liquid cream on top. I don’t know if it came under new management the past couple of years or what but what used to be one of my favorites is now one of the last choices I will go.

Arrived at Capt. Joe’s at 11:10. Nothing was on the salad bar. Waited til 11:30 for it to be set up. Waited til 12:10 for soup to come out. As we were leaving at 12:25, the chips came out. The bar person had one speed:. Super slow. She never apologized and neither did the cashier. Our waitress was constantly apologizing and was very attentive. There was also a large group that came in at 11:30. Management needs to get control. If you open at 11:00, the food should be out. Won’t make that mistake again.

Not sure if the staff was new but keep getting our order wrong would bring out wrong stuff and couldn’t remember if we had sweet or unsweet.. not sure what was going on that day, but she was friendly

The service was great, but the food wasn’t as good as it used to be on previous visits. Our stuffed crab wasnt tasty , it wasnt the usual good tasting recipe. Oysters were great as were the fish! Shrimp was very greasy.. Attended a party in the back room, set up was great with the exception of no divider to seperate our party from another. We had awesome waitress!

We got seated at 6:30p.m. ordered our food and did not receive our order till 8:00 p.m. The service was not good, very slow. Had to hunt our waitress down. Food was cold and just wasn’t good. Last time we were here everything was good. The portions were super small for the large price paid. So disappointing in the restaurant.
