At our Lincolnton, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

To be fair make that a 3 1/2 stars. This is my first visit to this store just because they do allow indoor dining now(6/2/22) they had some new stuff on the menu I’ve never seen before ever, They had Funnel cake sticks and fried oysters I tried them both, the funnel cake sticks were really good I’d steer clear of the oysters though they were reasonably priced but the local fish camps must have spoiled me with good oysters. You can definitely tell they come from the ocean surrounded by kelp and seaweed cuz that’s what they tasted like !!! Our fish was a touch over cooked but still good. The fried okra was awesome as I come to expect anywhere at a Captain D’s. Do try their funnel cake sticks at this location I thought that was the best part of the meal

Decent food and usually good service. However during last visit we got our food to go as the dining area was full. We got home which is about a 20 minute drive and had wrong food. I called and they knew right away it had happened and did offer to replace our food. 20 minute drive back there. Got an apology but no offer of a future discount or anything which was disappointing given gas prices..Check your bag if you get it to go…

Nice area with small visitors center/shop in addition to some trails and a beautiful overlook. Go up the road across the street from the visitors center and drive past the small Lodge and checkout the view from beside the water tower

The thing that made my experience on the positive side was the extremely nice cashiers. The cook did a great job also! The only reason I gave food four stars instead of five is I wish that all Captain D’s would have smaller fish served by the ounces with Southern style cornmeal breading. Not sure what kind of fish it is but it’s thick enough and 5 oz comes on a meal which is about 8 to 10 small fish fillets. They also have an option where you can buy just fish in 8 oz servings. When I do stop there in Marion which is nearly an hour and a half from my home, I usually reheat the fish in my toaster oven. It has a great flavor as well as not greasy like the battered can beIf I’m not mistaken, I believe the Captain D’s in Marion North Carolina off of Sterling Street has been by far the best Captain D’s as far as food and their service is impeccable.

Went last night for a quick bite before I had had to pick my child up from somewhere. Nobody was in the drive thru line so I thought it wouldn’t be too time consuming. I ordered the spicy fish sandwich meal. The frizzy haired older woman who took my order told me it would be a little bit on the fish. I asked her about how long because I had to pick my son up very shortly. I was told 3 minutes. 10 mins later, after witnessing a bunch of hooting and hollering and a big social event for the workers there (sarcasm), I finally got the attention of the aforementioned lady. Evidently, my food had been there at the window for a while by the haphazard way she sort of threw it all together. The fish sandwich wasn’t spicy, was a regular sandwich and soggy and the few fries she threw in there were lukewarm at best. Look, I get having fun at work but people are still paying good money for food to get this kind of treatment. And let’s not forget the manager who kept walking right past the window, part of the big social event as well.

I don’t typically eat at a lot of seafood places because there’s generally nothing there I can eat. However, the , , and funnel sticks are so ! The food was served and fresh and it came out quickly, even though we had two separate large orders. This is a wonderful place to for a quick lunch or snappy bite to eat on the go.

The person working the drive-thru was very patient and friendly with our large family order. The food took an appropriate amount of time to prepare, and it was all hot and delicious! Our only complaint is that we live too far away to come more often.
